The West Wing's Donna ain't lovelorn no more. Janel Moloney is joining the cast of Showtime's Brotherhood for at least four episodes this season, playing a woman who has an affair with Jason Clarke's ambitious politico. (All together now: Poor Annabeth Gish.)In other Showtime news, in addition to Matthew Modine joining Weeds for at least 10 episodes (first scooped by the Ausiello Report, he'll serve as a love interest for both Nancy and Celia), Zooey Deschanel's krazy Kat is returning for the Season 3 opener, while Carrie Fisher will guest this season as Celia's "May-the-divorce-be-with-you" lawyer.

Weeds is sweetening the pot in its third season.Sources confirm that Matthew Modine is joining the cast for a 10-episode arc. He'll play a real-estate developer who's building a new community next to Agrestic. And in between bong hits, he'll be romancing both Mary-Louise Parker and Elizabeth Perkins — although probably not at the same time. The show's called Weeds, not Nip/Tuck.

As Huff’s second season opens, the title shrink (Hank Azaria) is lost in thought, not paying attention to his droning patient. Kind of how I felt watching this whiny, discordant and unfocused drama (Sundays at 10 pm/ET on Showtime), which whipsaws wildly and mostly unsuccessfully between raunchy dark comedy and existential family tragedy.
I kept watching my DVD time display, waiting (like the doctor) for each hour to be up. I got through seven of 13 new episodes before bailing, around the time Huff’s blabby conscience, which takes the form of a “Homeless Hungarian,” tells him to “wake up and smell the unspoken need.”
What I’m smelling is Showtime’s desperate need to launch a breakout drama that could attract the buzz of an FX or an HBO. Huff isn’t it.

WB has opted to air a censored version of The Bedford Diaries, a drama centered on a college's sexuality class and premiering March 29. Reacting to the decision, executive producer Barry Levinson said on Thursday, "We don't believe that the show should have been edited, but [WB] is very fearful of what the FCC has been doing... intimidating networks and levying fines." Diaries, whose cast includes Matthew Modine and Milo Ventimiglia (who addresses the show's brazenness in next Wednesday's TVGuide.com Insider), will debut sans a scene of two girls kissing and another opening her jeans.

Right now, Kristin Davis and her Sex and the City costars are in the midst of shooting the final season. Is Charlotte's portrayer glad the HBO hit comedy is wrapping up? Or would she prefer to keep vampin' it up with Carrie, Samantha and Miranda for years to come?
"I'm going to be a bad girl, and I'm going to say I really feel like we should keep going," Davis told reporters at the Television Critics Assoc. press tour in Hollywood. "It's really hard for me to be ending. I intellectually understand, but it's so hard because it's so rare that you get a situation like this, and a group of people who really love to work together in this way.
"We're not finished yet, so I haven't totally had to deal with it," she continues. "But we've already had some tearful days. You know, we're trying to kind of hold ourselves together, but it's really hard. It's like family, and it's very intense, and I don't know how I'm going to get through the end, really."
