Matthew McConaughey is taking his "just keep livin'" philosophy — the name of his new clothing company — to heart. The actor and new dad told CNN's Sanjay Gupta that he plans to bury his son's placenta in an orchard to fertilize the land, similar to rituals he says are followed in several cultures. In an interview with Gupta, scheduled to air in two parts Aug. 9 and 16, McConaughey discusses his hope that the birth of his son, Levi Alves McConaughey, will bring joy to others. "It's going to be in the orchards and it's going to bear some wonderful fruit," he says, according to an interview transcript on HuffingtonPost.com. "When I was in Australia, they had a placenta tree that was on the river.... It was this huge behemoth of just health and strength. Forget bodyguards. Matthew McConaughey can apparently rely on a bunch of surfer dudes to do his dirty work.The New York Daily News reports a photographer trying to take some video of McConaughey on a Malibu beach over the weekend was accosted by several surfers, who then tossed his video camera into the ocean. "There was apparently a fight, and the photographer gave a statement that he received injuries," an LAPD spokesman said.TMZ.com posted video of the incident, in which the surfers are seen going after several other photographers as well.The News quotes one of the beachgoers as saying, "I just drink beer and party" when asked by a photographer what he does for a living. — J.R. The weather for the red-carpet premiere of Fool's Gold was blustery, but leading man Matthew McConaughey seemed anything but chilly.
