Two weeks after Rebecca chars Cheers, the bar is rebuilt and ready for its grand re-opening. Unfortunately, Sam might be up against competition from an unexpected source. While Cheers was closed, Carla temporarily started working at Mr. Pubbs, a neon nightmare filled with television sets, video games and scantily clad dancing girls. Norm, Cliff, and other Cheers regulars have relocated to the popular chain bar, and find it difficult to give up Mr. Pubbs' titillating diversions. As a result, they miss Sam's re-opening ribbon cutting ceremony. They only return when Sam finally goes to Mr. Pubbs himself to retrieve his friends and bring them back to Cheers for a successful re-opening celebration. In the midst of the re-opening turmoil, Woody and Kelly have returned prematurely from their honeymoon, having decided the marriage can't continue because of their religious differences. After years of dating, they have now discovered that while Woody belongs to the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, Kelly belongs to the Lutheran Church of America. While seemingly insignificant to the rest of the Cheers gang, this discrepancy is too much for the newlyweds to bear. However, thanks to the counseling of Frasier, Woody finally concedes to join the Lutheran Church of America and the blissful honeymoon resumes. watch
