Lost's Matthew Fox: "I Am Not Going to Do Television Again"

When Lost's Jack says goodbye to the island in the ABC drama's series finale, star Matthew Fox will say goodbye to TV.

Fox, who has previously described the ending of Lost as a "relief," told Starpulse that he has no plans to work on the small screen again.

"I am not going to do television again," Fox said. "That is not because I think film is better than television. Not at all, in some respects some of the best story telling is happening on television. I have done two TV shows — Lost and Party of Five — that have each run for six years. When you add it all up it is in the vicinity of 300 hours of television. I want to find a way to have more control over when I am working and when I'm not. I'm looking for more flexibility."

Matthew Fox: Lost's Bomb Fallout Will Be Surprising... and Confusing

Matthew Fox is using words such as "amazing," "incredibly satisfying," "very surprising" and "fairly confusing" to describe Lost's sixth and final season, which kicks off sometime in early 2010.

Matthew Fox: Lost's End Will Be a "Relief"

As Lost nears the start of its fifth and penultimate season, Matthew Fox is greeting it with a mix of reverence — and a readiness to leave island life behind, literally and figuratively.

"Personally, it's a relief," he told Details, as he reflected on the ABC drama's nearing conclusion. "I owe this show a great amount, and I think it's exceptionally good...[but] I am looking forward to the freedom that comes with not working on one project professionally." Matthew Fox Gets a Salary Bump

Lost's Matthew Fox has found some dough — a lot of it.The Golden Globe-nominated actor has negotiated a new salary with ABC Studios that will see him earn a hefty $225,000 per episode for the serial drama's upcoming season, the Hollywood Reporter reports.Prior to the deal, Fox's paycheck topped out at $150,000.News broke earlier this week that the 42-year-old, along with Evangeline Lilly, had started re-negotiating their contracts with ABC. Lilly had also been earning $150,000, and, until reported otherwise, it looks like she still may be. But how can you not give the woman behind Kate Austen more moolah?ABC may have to dish out even more money to the Oceanic crew. Word on the beach has it that Fox and Lilly's castmates are angling for raises too after hearing of their negotiations. Lost producer ABC Studios quietly started paycheck renegotiations with the drama's stars, Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly, who each earn about $150,000 per episode, according to The Hollywood Reporter.But when word of the talks about bigger paychecks leaked out, reps for some of the other Losties called the studio to open their own renegotiations. Im not even sure where to begin From the signature eye-opening shot at the beginning to Sawyers impassioned cries for Claire at the end tonights episode intrigued confused and frustrated me It also left me emotionally exhausted and thoroughly succeeded in reintroducing some things I had forgotten And as always it created more questions than answers Lets start with Matthew Fox in a towel Not bad Not bad at all Anyone else as excited as me to see him in Speed Racer I pretty much knew who he was co-habitating with as soon as he tripped on the childs toy in the kitchen As much as I like Jack and Kate on the island it felt disconcerting to see them living a life of domestic bliss Or Heaven as Hurley would later refer to it It wasnt just that I half expected to see Kate scamper out the fancy French doors to shimmy up a tree or follow a blood trail though that was certainly part of it It was also the underlying melancholy that seem read more
