FX Orders Billy Crystal-Josh Gad Comedy The Comedians

FX has ordered 13 episodes of The Comedians, a half-hour sitcom starring Billy Crystal and Josh Gad, the network announced Wednesday.

The Comedians, based on a Swedish series of the same name, will offer an unfiltered behind-the-scenes look at late-night sketch comedy. Crystal stars as a successful veteran comedian who is reluctantly paired with Gad, an edgier up-and-coming star. The show also marks Crystal's first starring TV role since his role as Jodie Dallas on Soap.

Spring 2014: Must-watch new shows

Larry CharlesMatt Nix and Ben Wexler will write and executive-produce the project, along with Crystal. Gad will serve as a producer.

Terra Nova's Jason O'Mara to Star in USA Pilot Complications

Jason O'Mara will star in USA's drama pilot Complications, the network announced Tuesday.

The Terra Nova star will play John Ellis, an ER doctor who saves a boy's life in a drive-by shooting. Upon finding out the boy's life is still in jeopardy, John decides to look after the child at all costs. Burn Notice's Matt Nix will executive-produce.

It's the last day of shooting on the penultimate episode of USA's long-running spy hit Burn Notice, but if you had bet that the cast would be coasting to the finish line, you would get burned. At Burger King's former Miami headquarters — abandoned after they were damaged by Hurricane Andrew in 1992 — secret agent men Jeffrey Donovan and Bruce Campbell are lowering themselves into a man-made bay that runs alongside the industrial complex.
