Exclusive: Heroes Alumna Befriends an Army Wife

Tawny Cypress by Mark Sullivan/ WireImage.com, Brigid Brannagh in Army Wives courtesy Lifetime Television

Thanks to her increasingly popular radio show on the post, Army Wife Pamela (Brigid Brannagh) is about to get just a little bit famous. And helping her get there will be a local newspaper reporter played by Tawny Cypress.Cypress, who last was seen getting accidentally (and fatally) shot by her artist-beau, Isaac, on NBC's Heroes, has been booked for a multi-episode Army Wives arc (kicking off Aug. 3) as a journo who gives Pamela some ink. In working on the story, the two ladies form a "close friendship," I am told. Now, being a guy, I did the whole raised-eyebrow, "Close friendship, eh?" thing, but the Lifetime rep assures me that no, we're not going there. Exclusive: Luke Perry Is a "Very Dark" Criminal

Luke Perry by Charley Gallay/ WireImage.com

What started with taking Brenda's tender flower and then hit new depths with that doomed jaunt to Mexico (behind Jim and Cindy's backs, no less!) now has apparently spiraled into full-on crime. Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Luke Perry has been booked for a guest-star gig on CBS' Criminal Minds this season, filling the "very dark" role of a baddie. A spokesperson for the Eye confirms that Perry will appear in one episode, airing toward the beginning of the season. What's your take? Think Luke can bring the ominous and sinister just as well as Frankie Muniz? Was that question rhetorical? — Matt Mitovich read more

Rumor Patrol: 24 Is Not Subtracting Hours from Day 7

Carlos Bernard, Keifer Sutherland, James Morrison and Mary Lynn Rajskub courtesy Fox

Perhaps something was lost in translation...? In an interview with Premiere.com, Scotsman Robert Carlyle stated that the two hours covered by 24's November prequel movie will be applied against Season 7's episode count. "This is two hours in real time," he said, "and there'll then be 22 episodes."I caught wind of that Q&A via TVTattle.com and Carlyle's take didn't seem kosher, so I checked with Fox and confirmed that Day 7 indeed will be the usual 24 episodes/hours, wholly supplementary to the TV-movie.Carlyle also suggested that the final moments of the prequel will feed right into the opening scenes of Season 7, yet again, that is not exactly the case. The prequel itself picks up four years after the events of Day 6 — effectively planting Jack Bauer in the year 2017, if you have been keeping tabs — and then another few on-screen months will pass between the movie's sure-to-be-thrilling climax and Jack's appearance before Congress. — Matt MitovichMore 24 updates:... read more

Mega Buzz on Without a Trace, Kyle XY & More!

Anthony LaPaglia by Cliff Lipson/ CBS; Matt Dallas by Eike Schroter/ABC Family; Amanda Tapping by Eike Schroter/Sci Fi Channel

Do you have any scoop on Without a Trace? Anything on the big "You don't have to [raise your baby] alone anymore" comment made by Jack to Sam on the season finale? Will we be getting more "Smack"? — ShannonMatt Mitovich: This does not bode well — there's not a lick of baby talk in any of the first three episodes being shot this summer.Could you please give the world some scoop on Kyle XY? I heard it is not returning until January 2009, and it's only 12 episodes! – KyleMitovich: The "January 2009" part is correct. Alas, only 10 episodes are on the books right now (though I am hearing that run could be extended). FYI, Season 3 will pick up right at the prom.Dude, it's been ages since we've had any Prison Break scoop! What gives? – AdieMitovich: Ages?! You've gotten Cress Williams, Michael Rapaport, a yet-to-be-cast computer wonk.... Oh wait, the computer wonk has been cast — with James Hiroyuki Liao.Is Provenza going to be the casualty on The Closer since an u... read more

Exclusive: Bones Picks "Jimmy Berluti" for Rotation

Michael Badalucco by Duffy-Marie Arnoult/ WireImage.com

Remember that rotation of grad students I told you would be taking turns filling Zack's position as a Bones squint? One of them has been cast, and he's very familiar to fans of The Practice. Michael Badalucco, who played blue-collar Jimmy on the ABC legal drama, is booked for at least one episode, and will first appear a few weeks into Season 4. Yes, he's playing a grad student, but one who has "lived some years" — akin to Grey's Anatomy's World's Oldest Intern, only not that long in the tooth. In the same episode, look for a visit from Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan, playing... himself. (Maybe he gets confused about a Lab needing help? Haw!) — Matt MitovichRelated:• Mega Minute: Bones Casting Scoop and More read more

Mega Buzz on Heroes, Criminal Minds and More!

David Anders by Justin Lubin/NBC; Thomas Gibson by Michael Desmond/CBS; Alex O' Loughlin by Cliff Lipson/CBS

Please tell me we haven't seen the last of David Anders as Adam Monroe on Heroes. — StacieMatt Mitovich: No, Heroes fans have not seen the last of Anders. And that's the truth. (Now would you be so kind as to tell my sons that good things come to those who say please?)Newly converted "vitch" here. Think you could dig up some scoop on Bones or Criminal Minds for me? — LaurenMitovich: "Vitch"? Really? Hmm. There's Bones buzz in the new Mega Minute vodcast. As for Minds, remember the SUV that went kablooey in the finale? It belonged to a main character, and he will emerge "impaired" as a result. Have you heard anything about when BSG will return with the final episodes? – AnnaMitovich: The bad news: No sooner than January 2009, Ron Moore told us just last week. The good news: There is talk of getting a "bonus" 11th hour in that batch. A Sci Fi rep deftly responds, "As written by Ron, the phenomenal finale script extends beyond the time allotted for the episode. We're ex... read more

Exclusive: Rescue Me Wants Tatum O'Neal Back

Tatum O'Neal by Michael Wong/FX

Despite her recent skirmish with the law, Tatum O'Neal is expected back at work at FX's Rescue Me the next instance she is needed. "We want to bring her back, and I haven't heard anything about why she wouldn't be available to us," series cocreator Peter Tolan told me during a sitdown to promote the indie Finding Amanda, which he wrote and directed. "It's a misdemeanor, so she's not going to do time, and nobody has said to us we can't insure her or anything like that. So I'm assuming she's available to us and it's 'business as usual.'"O'Neal's publicist confirms that she is back at the grindstone, ready for more Rescue Me as well as promoting the Lifetime movie Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal. At the time of her June 1 arrest (on charges of possession of a controlled substance), O'Neal had filmed two episodes for Rescue Me's fifth season (arriving in spring 2009). Seeing as her and Tommy's father passed on when last we tuned in, her services certainly will be needed. Says To... read more
