Based on Peter Benchley's best-selling novel inspired by the Jersey Shore shark attacks of 1916. The police chief of Amity Island, a summer resort town, tries to protect beachgoers from a great white shark by closing the beach, only to be overruled by the town council, which wants the beach to remain open to draw a profit from tourists. After several attacks, the police chief enlists the help of a marine biologist and a professional shark hunter. Chris Drake (guest star Tim Peper) escorts two drunken women onto a party bus to film a scene for his movie company Babes Being Bad, and finds his friend Bryce Moore (guest star Daniel Cameron-Talbott) dead, making Chris an instant suspect. Using video as his alibi, Detectives Ed Green (Jesse L. Martin) and Nina Cassady (Milena Govich) track down the suspect, Nicole Flynn (guest star Kim Shaw) and she admits to being on the bus questioning Chris about video footage he recorded of her while on spring break. Yet, as A.D.As Jack McCoy (Sam Waterston) and Connie Rubirosa (Alana De La Garza) dig deeper more is exposed of Babes Being Bad and Nicole's story, leading to an unlikely conviction for the murder.
