Nicole goes to see Mia, and despite the risk, is emotionally forced to reveal more of the truth. Mia realizes Nicole is pulling a ruse on her fiancé and doesn't want to be involved. She orders Nicole to leave, but Nicole gives a tremendous cry for help in order to turn things around. Nick is sentenced, but Melanie doesn't tell Philip where she is going. Max, Stephanie, and Philip find out, and they all attend the hearing. Melanie's positive statement about Nick greatly reduces his time in jail which Nick thanks her for. Melanie admits she has helped herself gain trust with Philip. Despite her efforts, Melanie witnesses Philip and Stephanie share a quiet kiss, and understands she has much work to do. Chloe goes to see Daniel to insist last night never happened, and the couple end up making passionate love. They are almost caught by Kate, but even that danger cannot stop them from a passion that is beyond their control - something Daniel accepts even as Chloe remains in denial. While John admits he wants his memories back, Marlena almost inadvertently catches onto the fact that he did, indeed, start to get them back in therapy with Charlotte. Marlena and Charlotte have a heated discussion about John and his memories. Later, Charlotte meets with John and tells him the hypnosis will not work for him.
