Nieves became the first Brewer and the first Puerto Rican-born Major Leaguer to toss a no-hitter when he blanked the Orioles on a cold night at Memorial Stadium, a game that ended on center fielder Yount's now-legendary catch of an Eddie Murray line drive in right-center field.

April 28th, 2008: Cincinnati Reds 4 at St. Louis Cardinals 3 F -- Struggling pitchers could find their fastball and some wins if Bronson Arroyo's new training method proves legit. According to Arroyo, the way to wash off his bad streak was to jump into a pool and make like Mark Spitz. The Reds right-hander finally reached the six-inning threshold to notch quality start No. 1 -- and win No. 1 -- in Cincinnati's 4-3 win over the Cardinals on Monday. It gave the Reds their first three-game winning streak of the season. On its 10th attempt, Cincinnati at last took the opening game of a series. With two outs in the third inning and another run in, Encarnacion hit a routine popup to short left-center field that got lost in the lights by left fielder Chris Duncan and dropped in for another RBI double that scored Dunn, for a 4-0 lead.
