Ed Asner, Marion Ross
TV veterans Ed Asner and Marion Ross (Happy Days) have been tapped to guest-star on ABC Family's newest drama Chasing Life, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
You can say this about voice-over actors: They love to talk. One hundred and fifty of Hollywood's busiest performers and casting agents from the often overlooked industry enthusiastically share their stories in the new documentary I Know That Voice, available on VOD platforms and at iTunes starting Tuesday.
Director Lawrence Shapiro was inspired to make the film when he saw how animated (pun intended) fans became when meeting his friend John DiMaggio, voice of the curmudgeonly-yet-beloved robot Bender on Futurama. "I'll admit it, applause is great," says DiMaggio, one of the industry's most popular and prolific stars, whose résumé also includes roles on Adventure Time, The Penguins of Madagascar and Kim Possible. But outside of fan-centric events like Comic-Con, voice actors work in relative obscurity, which motivated DiMaggio to sign on as producer. "I want my peers to get a little bit of recognition. These are some of the most talented people I know, and some of the most brilliant character actors that I know."
Charlie McDermott, Patricia Heaton
On this final night of the official broadcast season, let's focus on the good times, shall we? Two of TV's finest comedies, ABC's underappreciated The Middle and the much-honored Modern Family, go out with a flourish, and perhaps a sniffle or two, as the Heck and Dunphy/Pritchett clans experience life-changing and/or affirming ceremonies likely to strike home for many viewers.
NBC's Up All Night has just hired another Happy Days veteran. Following the casting of Henry "The Fonz" Winkler as Ava's (Maya Rudolph) dad, Marion "Mrs. C." Ross will play Chris's (Will Arnett) Grammy.
Marion's grandma character is described to me as "a brittle, bitter woman who's not too fond ...
Anson Williams, Don Most, Marion Ross, Erin Moran
The Happy Days cast is decidedly unhappy about not winning the jackpot on merchandise using their likenesses on slot machines, comic books, lunch boxes and other collectibles.
Erin Moran, Donny Most, Marion Ross, Anson Williams and the estate of the late Tom Bosley claim that CBS, which owns the show, hasn't paid them money they're owed under their contracts, CNN reports. Their attorney, Jon Pfeiffer, filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Fringe, Breaking Bad
There's no laugh like an unexpected laugh. But this week was filled with them, as such unlikely sources as unhappy employees, CSPAN, and a debate about the Fourth Amendment provided doses of mordant comedy. Of course, we also got our usual, predictably solid joy from Cougar Town and a celebrity sing-along — plus a shockingly poignant moment from... The Hills? We can hardly believe it ourselves. Welcome to Top Moments: Ode to Joy Edition.

"Medieval" and "mid-level" might sound similar, but unfortunately their meanings are very different. And a coat of arms and people in costume at Noras 60th birthday party were the least of the Walker familys problems. Between drinking in closets and Sarahs sex tape and grandmothers who dont know when to refrain from commenting, its a wonder they even had time for cake.Noras mother (guest star Marion Ross) came as a surprise. I wouldnt have pictured her as such an unpleasant person, based on what weve seen of the rest of the Walkers. I guess it takes all kinds to make up a family, though. I think what I liked most about this story line was the realistic approach to the tension between Nora and her mother. They came to an understanding and parted on good terms, but at the same time viewers got the sense that mother and daughter would continue to disagree from time to time. The situation wasnt magically resolved, but if it had been...
Nathan Fillion has claimed the lead role in Drive, the mid-season Fox drama chronicling an underground race across America and exec-produced by former Firefly boss Tim Minear. Fillion, who initially passed on the gig last spring (due to a scheduling conflict), takes over for Ivan Sergei, who played Alex Tully, a charming, rogue landscaper searching for his abducted wife, in the original pilot. In other casting news, courtesy of the Ausiello Report: Happy Days' Marion Ross will swing by Brothers & Sisters in February, playing Sally Field's mother, and Dancing with the Stars alumna Stacy Kiebler has booked a multi-episode arc on What About Brian, playing a super-leggy roadblock for Bri and Bridget.
Care to guess who's been cast as Sally Field's mom on Brothers & Sisters? Here's a hint: Sunday, Monday, Happy Days, Tuesday, Wednesday, Happy Days, Thursday, Friday, Happy Days, Saturday, what a day, Rockin' all week with you.If you guessed Marion Cunningham Ross, you're right! Although unconfirmed by ABC, sources tell me that Ross has landed the one-episode gig and will show up in February. Her character is described as "tough, obstinate, judgmental, direct and uncompromising." Happy days, indeed!
