Regis Philbin, Kelly Ripa
The race to replace Regis is on. Now that Regis Philbin has given a firm date for his last appearance on Live with Regis and Kelly — Nov. 18 — the show is starting to line up a list of potential new hosts to sit next to Kelly Ripa.
According to executive producer Michael Gelman, the show already has a transition plan in place — starting with the new, temporary title Live with Kelly, which will be used until that ...
H8R, Up All Night, Free Agents
Wednesday night brought three new shows to the fall lineup for you to love or hate ... or is it <3 or H8?
Host Mario Lopez kicked off the night with The CW's H8R, a show that allows celebrities to confront those who despise them most with the hopes of changing their minds. In the premiere, Jersey Shore's Snooki cooked an Italian dinner for one of her haters, while The Bachelor's Jake Pavelka attempted to sway one blonde to become a fan.
In this year's mixed bag of a new fall season, I tend to find myself touting several of the comedies more frequently than almost any of the dramas, which is rarely the case. There are plenty of sitcom stinkers this fall — one of tonight's, actually, is at the very bottom of my must-flee (as opposed to must-see) list. Thursday's TCA schedule at the Beverly Hilton was split between CBS's most disparate corporate siblings: Showtime, the surging adults-only pay-cable service determined to give HBO a run for its money, and the CW, that hodgepodge of a mini-network reaching out to the eternally post-adolescent fan-girl in us all.
Celebrities including Eva Longoria, Barry Bonds, Leah Remini and Kat Von D will go head-to-head with everyday people who don't like them in a new CW reality series called H8R.
Episodes featuring Jersey Shore's Snooki and Kim Kardashian have already been shot. The Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss, Extra host Mario Lopez, and Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey executive-produce the show. Lopez said if the show has a message, it's "Hate is not cool.
Maria Menounos is joining Extra as Mario Lopez's co-host and has signed a development deal with Telepictures, the production company behind the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
