This hard-boiled jailbreak drama follows depraved inmate Jim Sherbondy (Scott Brady) as he masterminds an escape from a Colorado penitentiary with 11 others in tow and the formidable warden (Roy Best) on his heels. Based on the actual 1947 breakout, the chase moves from terrorized town into steep valley terrain, but Carl (Jeff Corey), Smalley (DeForest Kelley) and the rest can't outrun the merciless storm that envelops them.
