Rosie O'Donnell is returning to The Fosters!

"I'm doing three episodes in the second half of this season," O'Donnell told TVGuide.com after the season premiere of The View. "ABC has been very nice in allowing me the time to go do that. 6 behind-the-scenes moments you didn't see on the premiere of the new View

O'Donnell plays the strict but compassionate social worker and house mom at Girls United who became a mentor to Callie (Maia Mitchell) when she was living there. O'Donnell appeared in five episodes in Season 1 and reprised her role for two more earlier this season, guiding Callie as she found her birth father Robert (Kerr Smith). ABC Family declined to comment.

The Fosters Star Maia Mitchell: This Season Callie Works on Accepting Love

On Monday's The Fosters' (9/8c, ABC Family), Callie Jacobs is right back where she began when the series premiered, in juvie. But this time around she has a loving family by her side -- if only she could see finally accept them into her life.

"It's complicated for Callie because her goal is to live independently and take control of her life and not be bound by the system or family or expectations of her that have been restricting," Maia Mitchell tellsTVGuide.com. "She gradually realizes that may not be the best thing for her, but it's hard when you've never been loved or nurtured to accept it because it's terrifying to have the thought of it being taken away."

The Monday Playlist: Fosters, Mistresses, Teen Wolf, Revolution Finale

"Here's the story

Of two lovely ladies ..."

Doesn't take long before ABC Family's The Fosters dispels one of its two moms' worries that if they keep adding kids to their already crowded household, "It's going to be like The Brady Bunch around here." Well, maybe if Carol had married Alice and Alice was an African-American private-school vice principal and Carol was a cop and the kids were a blended multi-racial rainbow of diversity. Earnest but rarely saccharine, this promising new family drama (Monday, 9/8c) — to be paired in future weeks with the channel's best series, Switched at Birth — establishes its edgier tone by introducing its main character, the abused but prideful Callie (Maia Mitchell), as she gets roughed up on her way out of juvy and into the welcoming custody of Lena (Sherri Saum), who hasn't yet told her partner-the-cop Stef (Teri Polo) about the new addition.
