Frasier is disappointed after receiving a message from Roz that Martin will not be able to join him for dinner after his shift at Keckner Security because Martin's boss, Rich, is requiring him to work overtime. Since Martin can't leave work, Frasier decides that it would be a good idea if he were to bring dinner to his dad. Frasier arrives with a pizza and hears Rich criticizing Martin. Frasier is outraged and finds Rich's tone insulting and rude. Frasier insists that Martin stand up for himself and fight back. Martin insists that he is not going to say anything, as Rich is his boss--and he must respect the chain of command. Frasier, not respecting Martin's decision, decides to take matters into his own hands. Frasier calls the owner of Keckner Security, Rich's son Steve Keckner, to meet with him under false pretenses of a security need. They meet at the caf and Frasier proceeds to tell Steve that Rich is picking on Martin. Steve agrees to speak with Rich about his behavior. The next night, Rich approaches Martin and keeps referring to 'complaints.' It becomes obvious that Rich believes Martin tattled. To punish Martin, Rich assigns him to extra graveyard shifts. Martin is exhausted and thinks about quitting. Frasier, accompanied by Niles, decides it is time to confront Rich and tell him that it wasn't Martin who told on him, but himself. They see Rich and at the same time Martin unexpectedly returns from one of his 'checkpoint walks'. In order to keep their meddling a secret from Martin, Frasier and Niles hide in a storage room. Rich checks the security monitors and sees two men hiding in the storage room. Martin quickly discovers that it is Niles and Frasier, and tells Rich that the men are his sons. Martin realizes that they probably came down to fight his battle for him and decides to teach them a lesson. He pretends not to notice that they are hiding in the storage area and plays a game of cat and mouse. He sta watch
