A kindly ranch owner (Francis Ford) turns his spread into a home for boys whose fathers were killed in World War II, but his scheming lawyer, Hattie Waters (Nana Bryant), wants the valuable land for herself and hires henchmen to terrorize neighboring ranchers. After her conniving goes to deadly lengths, U.S. Marshal Roy Rogers (played by Rogers himself) rides in to investigate in one of the more violent entries in the singing cowboy's catalog.

This cheerful celebration of all things winter features six beloved children's television characters in rollicking adventures that capture the holiday spirit. The collection includes everyone's favorite purple dinosaur Barney in "Winter"; Bob the Builder in "Bob of the North"; Thomas the Tank Engine in "Keeping Up with James"; Kipper in "Snowy Day"; Pingu the penguin in "Pinga's Balloon"; and Fireman Sam in "Let It Snow."

After being wrongly court-martialed, soldier Jed (Richard Arlen) escapes from prison, travels to Nevada Springs to find his young brother, Spud (Bobby Driscoll), who has been living with Jed's old friend, Sam (Robert Livingston), and learns that Sam rules the boomtown with an iron fist. Jed accepts a job at the gold mine owned by Adam (Russell Simpson), and when Sam's henchmen murder Adam, Jed is forced to confront his friend.

American pilot Tyrone Power delivers a bomber to Britain during World War II. When he runs into old flame Betty Grable, he decides to stay in England, joins the Royal Air Force and is soon competing with a fellow pilot for Grable's affection. But as the Nazis threaten Britain, the two heroes team up to pull off a daring evacuation of Allied troops from Dunkirk.

Roy Rogers stars as a ranch hand at Olde California Ranchero who finds himself framed in a conspiracy. When a series of gold shipment heists is pinned on Roy, he sets out to clear his name and bring the real perpetrators to justice. It wouldn't be a Roy Rogers picture without a few songs, and the singing cowboy obliges with renditions of "Sundown on the Range," "The Moon, She Will Be Shining Tonight" and "We're Not Coming Out Tonight."

A group of Texas Rangers are forced into retirement after a cavalry regiment arrives to take over the region when Texas is admitted to the Union. However, the cavalry is ill-equipped to handle the vicious local bandits and foreign terrain, along with a corrupt local government. When Roy's ex-Ranger brother is killed, Roy convinces the Rangers to take up arms again and go after their friend's killer. The former Rangers out-wit and out-manouver the cavalry, managing to capture the gang of desperadoes responsible for the murder and oust the corrupt politicians running a protection racket.

In the first western to team Rogers with sidekick Gabby Hayes, Roy and Gabby play veterans of the Confederate Army who inherit half-ownership of a Texas ranch. Union Colonel Denbigh (Boteler), who owns the other half of the ranch and has a poor past relationship with Roy and Gabby, is appointed military governor of the district. A new police squadron just transferred to the district to help with "The Reconstruction" is discovered to be made up entirely of outlaws masquerading as policemen, who rob the surrounding ranches in disguise. The criminals murder the Colonel, and it is up to Roy and Gabby to restore peace and lawfullness back to the territory. Roy even finds the time to romance the Colonel's daughter, Ellen (Hart), and sing a couple of songs.
