Timothy Olyphant, Justified
On that rare occasion when someone tells you there's nothing good on TV — but honestly, why would you be talking to people like that? — gently point them toward Tuesday nights at 10/9c, a time period that became ridiculously overstuffed this week thanks to some of cable's best and most entertaining dramas. (And let's pause to give thanks to cable replays, for those with limited DVR capability.)
THE TUESDAY LOGJAM: Let's start with FX's Justified, fresh as ever in its third season. Still recovering from last season's wounds, wry U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) may not be up to snuff just yet — as his boss taunts, "You can't run and you can't shoot, what good are you?" — but the show is so assured in its blend of barbed humor and deadly menace that you can always expect at least once per episode to be found laughing on the edge of your seat. Mags Bennett may be gone, and there's no replacing the great Margo Martindale, but icy-eyed Neal McDonough is giving it a robust go...
Michael Cudlitz, Lucy Liu
Things will look a little different this season on Southland.
Lou Diamond Phillips
Lou Diamond Phillips will guest-star on the Season 4 premiere of TNT's Southland, TVGuide.com has learned.

The former NUMB3RS and Stargate Atlantis star will play Danny Ferguson, a physically intimidating beat cop who is deeply cynical about law enforcement. Battlestar Galactica alum Katee Sackhoff has signed on to star in the upcoming A&E crime thriller Longmire, reports Entertainment Weekly...

Lou Diamond Phillips is getting out of here a winner: The actor was crowned king of the jungle on the I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! season finale.
"This experience is head and shoulders, and far to the left of anything I've ever done. One of a kind," Phillips said on Wednesday's live finale. "No movie set ever compares to this. This is the real deal and it's been an amazing trip."

Jensen Ackles by Michael Muller/The CW
Supernatural fans, get ready to make a pilgrimage: CW cutie Jensen Ackles returns to his home state to headline a revival of Aaron Sorkin's A Few Good Men at Fort Worth's Casa Mañana Theatre, June 5-10, says TheaterMania.com. Ackles nicely fills out Tom Cruise's uniform as a naive Navy lawyer, while Lou Diamond Phillips gets to chew the scenery in the Jack Nicholson role. Can you handle that truth? TheaterMania.com also reports that Debra Jo Rupp will go from That '70s Show matriarch to Mrs. Cleaver as The Butcher of Baraboo, a dark comedy about a butcher with a missing husband, running off-Broadway starting May 24.
