Liv Ullmann Fast Facts:

Known as director Ingmar Bergman's muse, she starred in nine of his films, including Persona, Face to Face and Scenes From a Marriage, which made her a feminist icon.
Won three Best Actress Awards from the National Society of Film Critics, two from the National Board of Review and three from the New York Film Critics Circle.
Grew up in Norway, where she was named a Knight in the Order of St. Olav in 1975, was promoted to Commander in that order in 1994, then promoted again to Commander With a Star in 2005, an honor rarely bestowed on civilians.
Published two autobiographies, Changing and Choices.
Became a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF in 1980.
In 1995, directed Kristin Lavransdatter, based on Sigrid Undset's 1928 Nobel Prize-winning novel; it became the most successful Norwegian movie ever at that time.
