Mary Jo Walker constantly moves from town to town with her 12-year-old daughter to escape failed relationships, and all of her relationships wind up failing. Making a fresh start in San Diego, Mary Jo takes up with a controlling trucker, while at work she fights with her new, strange boss. Meanwhile, her daughter discovers that she fits in at school, and is chosen for a lead role in the school play. This endearing comedy/drama stars Academy Award-nominee Janet McTeer ("As You Like It," "Tideland") as the wayward mother, and Emmy Award-nominee Kimberly J.
