May 31: The jury delivered a unanimous verdict on one of the six felony counts, and found him not guilty of receiving illegal campaign contributions from heiress Rachel Bunny Mellon. The judge declared a mistrial on the five other counts. Edwards later told reporters that he knew he had not done anything illegal, but that he was accountable for his behavior.
