Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick's Daughter Sosie Named Miss Golden Globe

Sosie Bacon, the 21-year-old daughter of Golden Globe winners Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, has been named this year's Miss Golden Globe, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced.

"I've been to the Golden Globes once before and it was such fun," Sosie said. "I was about 16 years old and I went with my mother the year she won. My parents have always had such a good relationship with the HFPA and the Golden Globes, so they are very supportive of me being Miss Golden Globe."

The Tuesday Playlist: Finales, a Salute to Primetime Soaps, White Collar, The Taste

It's another ridiculously busy night of TV, with premieres and finales jousting for attention amid other distractions. It's just as well that CBS' top-rated lineup is taking a breather with repeats.

First, the farewells, going head to head. Once again, NBC sends away its reliably tear-jerking Parenthood (10/9c) earlier in the TV year than we'd like, but a limited run of 15 episodes beats the alternative. Shows like this don't tend to repeat well, and if a shorter run makes business sense — while freeing up the time period in the back half of the season for something else (in this case, a retooled Smash in two weeks) — then so be it. This fourth season has been Parenthood's strongest and most emotionally charged to date, especially in the storyline involving Kristina's breast cancer ordeal, providing Monica Potter and Peter Krause (as husband Adam) with their strongest dramatic material to date. Emmy voters, wake up and take note.

Bitchslaps, a Babe Named Locklear and Big Sopranos News

Don’t laugh, but in the summer of 1981, I lived for three things: the birth of MTV, the Royal wedding and the identity of the bitch in the big hat who stormed Blake’s murder trial at the end of Dynasty’s first season. As you can probably tell, I wasn’t a normal kid. Didn’t even climb a tree until I had to outrun the cops in high school. Don’t ask, don’t tell, OK?Anyway, for the kiddies among us, MTV used to show things called music videos and had veejays with gigantic hair. Now, not so much. Chuck and Di? Please, if I never hear “Candle in the Wind” again, Elton John would still owe me. And the hat ho? Let’s just thank the TV gods that some people have stood the test of time. Even if this one did make me wait until November for the new season to begin.Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan, I love you.And not in the “being her for Halloween” way. More like, “I love you for being the first character to show me how t... read more

Are you as psyched as I am for...

Are you as psyched as I am for Dynasty Reunion: Catfights & Caviar, which airs May 2 on CBS? Just like the Dallas and Knots Landing reunions, this one gathers cast members from Aaron Spelling's nighttime soap to reminisce about their sudsy adventures in the '80s. In search of scoopage, TVGuide.com rang up Gordon Thomson, who played Dynasty devil Adam Carrington, in addition to his daytime gigs on Ryan's Hope, Santa Barbara and Sunset Beach. This cheeky, candid Canadian did not disappoint!

TVGuide.com: How's your TV mother, Joan Collins?
Gordon Thomson:
I've known Joan on and off for 24 years and I've never seen her happier. She's in great form. [Collins' fifth husband] Percy Gibson is the best thing that ever happened to her. It's a great match. They're frisky and lovely together. They're mutually nuts about each other.

Linda Evans and John Forsythe ...

Question: Linda Evans and John Forsythe were in a nighttime soap with the name Carrington. What was the name of that show?

Answer: I'm happy to answer that, but I demand an explanation — unless you spent the better part of the '80s living in a vacuum or, at least, manning a missile silo, I simply don't see how you could forget the over-the-top Dynasty. A fixture of a time when alluring TV women were rightly defined as those over 20, the series was a classic and the definition of the overused term "guilty pleasure."

A ratings powerhouse in the mid-'80s, Dynasty ran on ABC from January 1981 to May 1989, making Forsythe, Evans (The Big Valley) and costar Joan Collins household names while doling out paychecks to what seemed like half of Hollywood and upping the profiles of actor read more
