Alcatraz's two-hour season finale left viewers thunderstruck after fan-favorite heroine Rebecca (Sarah Jones) met her demise at the hands of her grandfather (David Hoflin). The powers that be behind the '63s' disappearance were also revealed to be the Warden (Jonny Coyne) and a mysterious unidentified man who, TVGuide.com has learned, is actually named Mr. K (Matt Craven).

Hopefully Fox picks up Alcatraz for a second season because the two-hour season finale left viewers with plenty of new questions — and one possible major death.
In the season ender, Rebecca (Sarah Jones) finally came face-to-face with her grandfather, Tommy (David Hoflin), who is apparently one of the lieutenants on the side of the '63s faction who work for the Warden (Jonny Coyne). The other side is lead by Harlan (Steven Grayhm), and possibly Matt Craven's mysterious man (whom we'll call MM throughout the story since he has no name) behind the door. What are their ultimate goals? Still not completely clear, but we do have a new theory. Why were they divided? Somebody broke a promise. Since this week's episode of Alcatraz was supposed to air before the two-hour special, "Clarence Montgomery" was light on new reveals. We did, however, learn that Warden James (Jonny Coyne) charged Dr. Beauregard (Leon Rippy) with using Lucille's mind-tampering techniques in reverse, causing an actually innocent prisoner to commit murder using the same techniques he was falsely convicted of.

This week's episode of Alcatraz was short on new mysteries, but it did raise a few questions. Namely, now that the prisoners and guards of Alcatraz are returning to present day, will they start aging again?
The returning '63 this week, Johnny McKee (Adam Rothenberg), poisoned 70 people, mostly because they weren't nice to him. In the present day, he works in a bar and a hotel pool to root out bullies and make them pay. Only a month in to its freshman season and Alcatraz has already raised many mysteries. We've been dissecting them each week in hopes of figuring out the answers.
To recap: San Francisco detective Rebecca Madsen (Sarah Jones) and Alcatraz expert Diego Soto (Jorge Garcia) were enlisted by federal agent Emerson Hauser (Sam Neill) to track down a group of Alcatraz prisoners and guards who mysteriously vanished into thin air in 1963. Dubbed the '63s, the men are returning to present day with missions to track down keys that apparently unlock a secret "downstairs" door at the prison where... well, we don't know that yet, but we do know the prison doctors were taking the prisoners' blood, and Tommy Madsen (David Hoflin) was begrudgingly at the center of it.

Forbidden romance at a prison never looked so sweet.
In this week's episode of Alcatraz we learned that Hauser (Sam Neill) and Lucy (Parminder Nagra), known then as Lucille, did know each other prior to the great disappearance of 1963. Hauser previously worked for the SFPD prior to his time on the island, transporting prisoners to Alcatraz.
Hauser delivered the newest occupant to Alcatraz: Paxton Petty, a war vet tried for bombing the city. Lucille initially turned down Hauser's offer of a ride back to the mainland, but Paxton's case brought them together. She showed up at his station so he could ask her out to dinner, and that's where he likely made the promise to his new friend to find out where Paxton's fourth and final bomb was planted. Devlin says the writers considered the "Moonlighting Curse" before agreeing to pair up Nate (Timothy Hutton) and Sophie (Gina Bellman). "It was a big, well-talked-out decision and we were very nervous about the idea," Devlin tells TVGuide.com. "Every season, we've tried to end the season as though it's our last. So we thought if last season was our last, we wanted them to be together. But we also threw in a big "Whoops!" at the end when they realize they're in bed together."
