Going Under the Dome: Neal Baer Answers Burning Questions on the Dome's Power

[Warning: This story contains major spoilers from Monday's episode of Under the Dome as well as the Stephen King novel the series is based on. Read at your own risk.]

Following the frantic chaos of riots, Chester's Mill has moved on to the politics of being stuck under a dome.

During Monday's episode, Big Jim (Dean Norris) tries to take Ollie's (Leon Rippy) land under eminent domain. Ollie shows his strength in numbers, forcing the group to leave empty-handed. They also leave one less in number since Junior (Alexander Koch) decides to join Ollie's band of outlaws. After Junior learns the truth that his mother killed herself, he sets his sights on taking his father out, but things don't go as planned. With new mysteries raised, TVGuide.com turned to executive producer Neal Baer to get some answers:read more

Under the Dome: Big Jim's Life Is About to Implode!

As de facto leader of Chester's Mill, Big Jim Rennie (Dean Norris) has had a lot on his plate since the dome descended on Under the Dome. Whether it's a greedy racist hillbilly trying to take over the town or the threat of Rev. Coggins (Ned Bellamy) outing his drug business, Jim has faced adversity without turning into his dastardly novel counterpart — but that's about to change.

Last week, when the aforementioned Ollie (Leon Rippy) set out to take control of Big Jim's propane, the councilman made an example by blowing up his lackey. That act of aggression set things in motion for Big Jim to face off against his son Junior (Alexander Koch) for a family reunion that could turn deadly when secrets are revealed. To get the scoop on what executive producer Neal Baer calls an Emmy-worthy performance from Norris, TVGuide.com turned to the man himself:

Going Under the Dome: Neal Baer Answers Burning Questions About the Mini-Dome

[Warning: This story contains major spoilers from Monday's episode of Under the Dome as well as the Stephen King novel the series is based on. Read at your own risk.]

There's more than one dome!

The giant dome that descended upon Chester's Mill has a smaller dome at its center, which Joe (Colin Ford) and Norrie (Mackenzie Lintz) discovered on Monday's  Under the Dome. The mini-dome contained a small egg. What the what?!

Elsewhere in town, Alice (Samantha Mathis) lost her life from insulin deficiency after helping Julia's

(Rachelle Lefevre) neighbor give birth. Townsfolk also suffered from random visions from the dome and Big Jim (Dean Norris) went commando on someone who tried to take his stuff. Yikes! With so many new questions raised, TVGuide.com turned to executive producer Neal Baer to get the scoop:

Will Alcatraz Return for Season 2? Series Boss Sounds Off on That and More!

[Warning: This story contains major spoilers from the season finale of Alcatraz. Read at your own risk.]

Alcatraz's two-hour season finale left viewers thunderstruck after fan-favorite heroine Rebecca (Sarah Jones) met her demise at the hands of her grandfather (David Hoflin). The powers that be behind the '63s' disappearance were also revealed to be the Warden (Jonny Coyne) and a mysterious unidentified man who, TVGuide.com has learned, is actually named Mr. K (Matt Craven).

Dissecting Alcatraz's Mysteries: Finale Edition -- Did our favorite character just die?!

On top of all that, it turns out there are two factions of '63s working together. Their motives? Still mostly unknown. So what happens if Fox doesn't renew the series and we don't get the answers to the new mysteries raised? We turned to executive producer Daniel Pyne to get the scoop:

How are you guys feeling about the chances of a second season?

Dissecting Alcatraz's Mysteries: Finale Edition -- Did Our Favorite Character Just Die?!

Hopefully Fox picks up Alcatraz for a second season because the two-hour season finale left viewers with plenty of new questions — and one possible major death.

In the season ender, Rebecca (Sarah Jones) finally came face-to-face with her grandfather, Tommy (David Hoflin), who is apparently one of the lieutenants on the side of the '63s faction who work for the Warden (Jonny Coyne). The other side is lead by Harlan (Steven Grayhm), and possibly Matt Craven's mysterious man (whom we'll call MM throughout the story since he has no name) behind the door. What are their ultimate goals? Still not completely clear, but we do have a new theory. Why were they divided? Somebody broke a promise. Let's first take a look at the season-long mysteries that were answered, then dive into the new questions that the finale raised: read more

Dissecting Alcatraz's Mysteries: Lucy Finally Wakes Up!

Finally, Rebecca (Sarah Jones) and Diego (Jorge Garcia) know almost as much as the Alcatraz audience!

After Rebecca ponders what life would be like if she could hit the reset button, the pair finally learned about the colloidal silver, and that Lucy (Parminder Nagra) is... one of the '63s! Oh, and Lucy finally woke up from her coma, thanks to the blood of a '63 named Webb Porter (Rami Malek), a former patient of Lucille's who suffered from a ringing in his ears that drove him insane. Those are just a few of the new mysteries that Alcatraz introduced this week. Let's take a look at the others: read more

Dissecting Alcatraz's Mysteries: Why Were the '63s Being Brainwashed?

Since this week's episode of Alcatraz was supposed to air before the two-hour special, "Clarence Montgomery" was light on new reveals. We did, however, learn that Warden James (Jonny Coyne) charged Dr. Beauregard (Leon Rippy) with using Lucille's mind-tampering techniques in reverse, causing an actually innocent prisoner to commit murder using the same techniques he was falsely convicted of.

Dissecting Alcatraz's Mysteries: Is the Warden a '63? Or is he pulling the strings?

Since we already learned about the colloidal silver in the prisoners' blood last week, it came as no surprise when Doc (Jorge Garcia) and Rebecca (Sarah Jones) deduced that there were experiments going on at Alcatraz. Thus, a shortened Dissection this week. Check out two of our big questions, along with a few fan theories worth mentioning: read more

Dissecting Alcatraz's Mysteries: Is the Warden a '63? Or Is He Pulling the Strings?

The person who might've been the most dangerous man on Alcatraz may not have actually died.

This week's episode of Alcatraz revealed that Warden James (Jonny Coyne) might be alive -- and that's not all. Could he be one of our Powers That Be. With the return of the Ames brothers (Graham Shiels and Travis Aaron Wade) and Officer Donovan, who tried to track down an urban legend of gold on the island, along with the reappearance of angry former kidnapper Sonny Burnett (Theo Rossi), Rebecca (Sarah Jones), Diego (Jorge Garcia) and Hauser (Sam Neill) were scrambling to bring these new '63s to justice.

Meanwhile, Dr. Beauregard (Leon Rippy) uncovered a disturbing new truth about the '63s: They are healing rapidly. It's just one of the new mysteries that Alcatraz introduced this week. Let's take a look at the others: read more
