  • Knocked out Riddick Bowe to win a gold medal for Team Canada at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
  • Made his professional boxing debut in 1989; became the world heavyweight champion three years later.
  • In the mid-1990s, established the now-shuttered Lennox Lewis College to help underprivileged students in London.
  • Jamaica, Lewis' mother's birthplace, issued stamps featuring his picture in 2000.
