Leighton Meester is now throwing her incredibly stylish hat into the music ring.The queen bee of Gossip Girl's Upper East Side announced at New York's Fashion Week that she will be recording and releasing an album, reports Access Hollywood. Connie Meester, mother of Gossip Girl's Leighton, is writing a memoir, according to E! The book will reportedly include details of Leighton's birth while Connie was doing time for drug-related crimes, as first reported by Star magazine on Tuesday.Connie initially wrote her life story as a screenplay, but will now convert it into a book, according to her manager, Loch Powell, with chapters describing her role in a family marijuana-trafficking ring that was busted by the Feds in 1985. Powell reports that mother and daughter are "very close."
