Larry Mullen Jr. Fast Facts:
  • Received his first drum kit from his sister Cecilia in 1973.
  • Played drums with the Artane Boys Band, a Dublin marching band, as a youth.
  • Placed an ad for musicians on a bulletin board at his high school: Singer-guitarist Paul Hewson (Bono), guitarist Dave Evans (The Edge) and bassist Adam Clayton were among those who responded.
  • Worked for oil company Seiscom Delta in Dublin after finishing high school and prior to U2 taking off.
