Desperate Housewives Episode Recap: "Remember Paul?"

Desperate Housewives is back for a seventh season, folks, and we've got ourselves a new Housewife. Vanessa Williams has joined the party, and she has a bit of a mean streak. Former neighbor Paul Young has returned, a free man, and surprisingly prison hasn't made him any less creepy... or treacherous. Susan is Fairview's own Donna Summer — she works hard for the money. Bree's new contractor has more than paint samples on his mind. Gaby and Carlos have dueling secrets. And Lynette, after giving birth to a basketball team, is too tired to defend her choices.

Desperate Housewives: Vanessa Williams Is the "New Gunslinger in Town"

Desperate Housewives

On the dusty expanse of suburbia that is Wisteria Lane, Vanessa Williams is ready to duel at 40 paces.

Desperate Housewives has always relied on a fun, trouble-making foil to shake up the staid suburban lives of the women of Wisteria Lane — think Edie, Mrs. Huber, Karl, may they all rest in peace. This season, ABC has employed a Wild West theme to announce the arrival of Renee Perry (Williams), who'll try on a (very chic) black hat. Executive producer Bob Daily introduces us to Renee, and tells us what all the other ladies — and at least one familiar gentleman — will deal with this season.

April 12, 2007: Safety Training

I am so drunk. I am so drunk, I can hardly control my redheaded tongue. Meredith from The Office here. There's no telling what I'll say about Jim and Pam and the rest of the Office dirt. God help the bartender. He's like a priest. He hears things in the strictest of confidence in my drunken stupor. I can't tell you the bar or the bartender in case he has a weak moment. I am not waiting for the black coffee to kick in.OK, here goes. This is the real story. Jim and Pam are never going to get together... in this week's episode, "Safety Training." Don't repeat that. You seem nice enough. You won't tell anyone that I said that, will you? It's hot in here. I better open a window. I am drunk because I miss everyone. We just stopped working two weeks ago. Why am I drunk? That's why I am drunk. Is anybody listening to ol' Mer? Is anybody else feeling hot? I hope that's dried oatmeal on my sweater. I am drunk. But who am I trying to kid? I'd be drunk even if I was at work. Anyway....I am just ... read more

Wow, you're so amazing at ...

Question: Wow, you're so amazing at digging up trivia that I thought you may be able to get your hands on this little nugget. During the mid-'90s, perhaps '95-ish, there was a special on NBC starring Joey Lawrence, in which he sang some incredible song on stage at the end of the movie. I want to say that the title had something about a prince, maybe "Prince for a Day" or something like that. Any help with the song title? Thanks.

Answer: A pat on the back for you for a job well done in answering your own question, Jake. You're probably talking about the 1995 TV-movie Prince for a Day, an adaptation of Mark Twain's classic The Prince and the Pauper.

Appearing alongside such notables as Richard Belzer and Lainie Kazan, young Mr. Lawrence played both prince (pop star Ricky Prince) and the lookalike pauper (pizza delivery guy Ralph read more

Grey's Anatomy ABC was very smart...

Grey's AnatomyABC was very smart to give us a new episode tonight, since the SAGs ended at 10 pm. And what a great one it was. Hopefully people who never watched the show but were watching the awards and saw Sandra Oh win (yea, Sandra!) thought, "Hmm, this gal just won a Golden Globe and now a SAG award. Maybe I should check out her show tonight." Yes, Sandra was fabulous as she always is, but Katherine Heigl and Ellen Pompeo gave their best performances, by far. Maybe the creative staff wanted to spread the wealth and help the other actors join Sandra and Patrick Dempsey in the world of award nominations. So Izzie has an 11-year old daughter that she gave up. What a perfect way for us to find out, by having her give advice to that youn read more
