Emily Osment has grown up since her days on Hannah Montana. Now 22, the former Disney Channel star is taking on a more adult role as a feisty personal chef on ABC Family's Young & Hungry.

"I'm excited for my fan base from Disney to transfer over to this show because it's a little more suggestive and sexier," Osment tells TVGuide.com. "From the fans I hear from on Twitter, they're about my age and they've grown up with me and are watching ABC family and Pretty Little Liars, so this isn't too out of the box."

Baby Daddy Gets Its Hands on Dot Marie Jones

You might know her best as Beiste on Glee, but on Wednesday, Dot Marie Jones is taking her Emmy-nominated comedic chops to Baby Daddy (8:30/7:30c, ABC Family). She's guesting as a no-nonsense masseuse at the spa Bonnie (Melissa Peterman), Riley (Chelsea Kane), and Riley's boss Ms. Jensen (Kym Whitley) visit in the episode. "I'm just this big Russian woman who's manhandling them, basically," Jones says with a laugh.

Inside the Kanye West HBO Comedy That Almost Was

Kanye West, HBO sitcom star? It almost happened. Long before the notorious moment he grabbed the microphone from Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards or celebrated the birth of his daughter with reality-TV scion Kim Kardashian the hip-hop icon headlined a comedy pilot from Curb Your Enthusiasm executive producer Larry Charles.

The sitcom was shot in 2007 but quickly fell by the wayside after an executive shuffle at HBO. Later that year, West's mother, Donda, died, and the superstar departed on a global concert tour, leaving the TV project behind. It was all a distant memory until this summer, when clips from the pilot started popping up — first on YouTube, and then at a comedy show in Brooklyn, where a bootleg copy of the entire episode was screened.

Oprah Winfrey's OWN will premiere two new original series from Tyler Perry — including a Downton Abbey-esque drama — on May 29, OWN Presidents Sheri Salata and Erik Logan announced Saturday at the winter TV previews.

The Haves and the Have Nots will focus on the dynamics and secrets of the wealthy Cryer family and of the family of their maid, Hanna. Love Thy Neighbor, a half-hour comedy, will center on a local diner and all of its zany customers. The two series are part of... read more

Animal Practice's Monkey Business Overshadows Human Business

The cast of NBC's upcoming fall comedy Animal Practice ignored W.C. Fields' advice to "Never work with animals or children," and the result was a Tuesday's monkey-centric Television Critics Association TV fall previews panel.

In particular, reporters wanted the dirt on acting opposite famous capuchin Crystal (The Hangover Part II), who plays the miniature-scrubs-wearing Dr. Rizzo at the quirky veterinarian's office on Animal Practice. "I love the monkey, but I put it in my contract not to be in any scene with it because she is a scene-stealer," cast member Kym Whitley told reporters. "Dr. Rizzo is a mess just like the rest of them."

December 5, 2006

Angela was great tonight. Maybe even the best guest star of the season so far. She was a nice addition to the show because she actually made me see the hostage norms that I have come to take for granted in the last several weeks in a different light. Now I think I’ve written “Poor hostage taker” nearly every week, but it was new to hear it coming from the negotiation end. I suppose it’s a necessity for negotiators to keep some amount of emotion distance from the HTs, though. They can’t sympathize to the levels that Angela did; of course they have to choose the safety of the innocent bystander first. That said, maybe it is important to understand both the bad and the good in a criminal. Angela seemed to have a special talent for that. Even Matt and Emily pointed that out.And while her ability to empathize was touching, my jaw hit the floor at the audacity of her call to bring in an armored truck. Now I’ve been told once or twice that I’m a ... read more
