Seven years after coming thisclose to a win with Mel B. on Dancing with the Stars, Maksim Chmerkovskiy finally has his Mirrorball trophy. His victory with Meryl Davis on Tuesday seemed to be a foregone conclusion, or at least the hot pick, since the cast announcement, but Chmerkovskiy says he had no expectations when he decided to return to the show after taking two seasons off.

Derek Hough: "It Was an Honor" to Work on Meryl Davis and Charlie White's Olympic Routine

Derek Hough is going from Dancing with the Stars to ice dancing with Olympians.

The five-time Dancing champ won't be at the Winter Olympics, but his presence will be felt when Meryl Davis and Charlie White take to the ice Sunday. Along with the two-time world champs and six-time U.S. champs' coach Marina Zoueva, Hough worked on the pair's quickstep and foxtrot in their My Fair Lady-themed short dance that has helped them remain undefeated this season (they haven't lost in 22 months).

"I was definitely not expecting that call," Hough tells TVGuide.com. "I still can't believe ...

Dancing With the Stars Gets Ready to go Classical

Get ready for a major format tweak: Dancing With the Stars is planning a Classical Theme Week in early April. "It's quite ballsy to do two hours of classical music in primetime," says executive producer Conrad Green, who is looking for ways to keep the competition fresh in its twelfth season.

The classical twist will be a big change. For that one week, the two spiral ballroom staircases will disappear, making room for a 38-piece orchestra playing selections along the lines of "Beethoven's 5th."  "We're rebuilding the whole upstage area to accommodate all those musicians," says Green.

Evan Lysacek: Dancing a Chance to "Prove Critics Wrong"

Is Dancing with the Stars' Mirrorball trophy more prestigious than an Olympic gold medal? "It's hard to say. Olympic gold has been my goal for my whole life," newly crowned Olympic champion Evan Lysacek tells TVGuide.com. "But the Mirrorball is very prestigious. I first came into this saying, 'I just want to have fun. I really want to learn to dance because I think it can help my skating.' But as I started rehearsing and the competitive fire is going, I want to win." History is on the figure skater's side: Fellow Olympic gold medalists Shawn Johnson, Apolo Anton Ohno and Kristi Yamaguchi have all won Dancing. Lysacek thinks he has his work cut out for him. "I'm not graceful at all, so it's going to be hard, but I'm ready to put in the time," he says. See what else he has to say about his Dancing experience so far, why he thought his partner would resent him and more.

The 38-year-old Dancing with the Stars champion will watch someone else be crowned Olympic champion from the NBC booth in Vancouver, where she is working as a special correspondent for the Today show.
