Fast Cars & Superstars: The Young Guns Celebrity Race
On a steamy March afternoon, former NASCAR Nextel Cup champ Kurt Busch sits in a stock car at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina, revving his engine in anticipation. The question hangs in the air: Which of three nearby celebrities, decked out in racing jumpsuits, will be the first to gulp back fear, strap into the makeshift passenger seat, and join Busch in a three-lap, cement-wall-kissing 190 mph run around the famed 1.5-mile track?
Laird Hamilton, best known for riding 70-foot waves, finally stands and pulls a helmet over his long blond locks. "Oh, sure," Hamilton calls to NFL legend John Elway and tennis champ Serena Williams with a grin. "Get the stupid surfer to do it."

Who's doing what and for whom this pilot season? Per Variety and the Hollywood Reporter: Amber Tamblyn will star in CBS' Babylon Fields, a drama in which deceased people who are resurrected try to resume their lives. Good luck with that, gang. Rita Moreno will play the matriarch of a rum business-owning clan in CBS' untitled drama starring Jimmy Smits. Faith Ford is the wife of one of ABC's Carpoolers. Stacy Keibler on George Lopez
With a WWE history and a stage name like "Super Stacy," 5-foot-11 Stacy Keibler certainly knows how to make an entrance that gets fans screaming and captivates admirers. Her long legs — famously 42 inches long — were helpful as she spun her way into the second season of Dancing with the Stars. But with wrasslin' and rumba behind her, Keibler is excited to cozy up to fun, girlie roles, starting with ABC's George Lopez (tonight and Feb. 21, at 8 pm/ET), and then on What About Brian (starting Feb. 12, at 10 pm/ET). TVGuide.com sought out Keibler for the scoop on what it was like dating a much older man, hanging out with

"Your mom was a stripper?" What a fuzzy-warm opening a budding relationship that's in the all-smiles phase. I'm excited about Adam and Heather (aka Summer) and her theory about waiting until the fifth date to get down and dirty. Jimmy thinks this is just a rebound thing, but you can see in Adam's eyes it's definitely not. Although, I wonder if his conversation with Jimmy sparked memories of Marjorie. In the hospital maternity ward, Brian's hair is growing on me, because it's actually done nicely.... Somebody found some mousse! "Are you high?" he asks Nicole when she says working for their father might actually be a good idea. He'd happily switch and grieve for her while she works for Dad. Oh Brian... chin up, buddy. I swear one day he'll be happy.... But we really wouldn't have a show if he found it now. Working for Dad means having boundaries. "I'm not expecting any favors, and I won't be asking for any," Brian says. And it's straight business from here on out as Dad lays do...

Callie Thorne -- aka Rescue Me nutcase Sheila -- is joining Prison Break for a multi-episode arc, sources confirm. She'll play Pam, the estranged wife of William Fichtner's Mahone -- a role I first told you about in Ask Ausiello. Per my Prison mole, the character will be introduced in Episode 9 when Michael meets up with Pam in an attempt to uncover some dirt on his mad pursuer. (Hint: He finds some.) And in what marks a bit of a breakthrough for Thorne, Pam is not cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs. That's right, Thorne is playing a character who's not crazy. Stop the presses! In other casting news, I'm told Krista Allen is joining ABC's retooled What About Brian for at least six episodes.

General Hospital's Tamara Braun (ex-Carly) isn't the only soap-opera sexpot dropping by ABC's sitcom Freddie. Next up, Krista Allen (ex-Billie, Days of our Lives) is romanced by Freddie Prinze Jr. in an upcoming episode entitled "Freddie and the Hot Mom." Look for Allen — who, naturally, plays the hot mom in question — to air on March 29.

Call me crazy, but I love series premieres. There's always so much hope. So much promise. Then, of course, you have to actually watch the episode. This one's OK, but far from perfect — I'm not totally sold on this Odd Couple concept. Jason Payne (Chris O'Donnell) goes into a full-on nervous breakdown after his wife (Krista Allen) throws him out for not being there for her or their son. Russell Shultz (Adam Goldberg) suffers from some sort of inexplicable rage disorder. The two lawyers end up working together. Why? I'm really not so sure. The doctor at the hospital says it's a sponsor-type thing, but the reasoning is really kind of weak. And then there's the fact that O'Donnell's character seems like he went from zero to breakdown in record speed, but whatever. It's good to see the former Boy Wonder spending some quality time with us in TV Land. And it's always good to see Goldberg in one of those seriously off-kilter roles we've
