Dancing With the Stars (Monday, 8/7c, ABC)
Here we go again. Time to strap on the heels, attach the sequins and apply the spray tan. TV's giddiest dance competition returns for a new season, with the outrageous Kirstie Alley (paired with fan fave Maks) the highest-profile celeb in the cast. Her competition includes the usual suspects: athletes (Hines Ward, Sugar Ray Leonard), C-list performers (Ralph Macchio) a rapper (Romeo), a reality "star" (Kendra Wilkinson), a flamboyant talk-show host (Wendy Williams), a supermodel (Petra Nemcova) and a Disney personality few of the target audience will ever have heard of (Chelsea Kane). The mirrorball isn't the real prize for most of the contestants. Instant (if sometimes fleeting) stardom comes with the flashy territory.
Hope you had a great week!
Well, we're just a few days away. Everything's looking good. We are polishing up our cha-cha. Kirstie's improvement and progress grow in leaps and bounds every day. I'm so proud of her. It's important that she feels comfortable in her own skin. Her practice attire has changed. We've been rehearsing hard and long. It's been very interesting ...
Hope you're all having a great 2011 so far. Are you ready for Season 12?
Everything is going great so far. As you now know, Kirstie Alley is my partner. We are having a blast. She is doing really well. What I like is that she's a lot better than I expected. I'll be honest: I came in and said to her, "You are out of shape." She said, "I am and I'm not hiding it. It's a great opportunity to get into shape. I don't want any limits. Do whatever needs to be done. It's a learning experience." I said, "Great!" And I came back with a routine and choreography like I would with anyone else and she gives me 100 percent in rehearsals every day.
Kirstie has a lot of ...
When Kirstie Alley stepped into the lead female spot on the hit sitcom Cheers, her fearless, bawdy, neurotic energy thwarted all predictions that she'd never fill Shelley Long's shoes. She even earned an Emmy. Since then, Alley has continued to catch the world off guard by segueing into feature films, both arty and mainstream (Deconstructing Harry, the Look Who's Talking movies), headlining popular post-Cheers series Veronica's Closet and making a name for herself as one of the most unapologetic of Scientology's brethren. Then, when her weight ballooned at age 53, she used her indomitable spirit to turn her bathroom-scale struggles into a new branch of her career: She's been a Jenny Craig spokesperson; invented her own weight-loss program, Organic Liaison; starred in a semiautobiographical Showtime sitcom, Fat Actress; and to show what it's like to be an overweight celebrity single mom of two teenagers — William True and Lillie Price — she welcomed a reality-TV crew into her hectic home for A&E's Kirstie Alley's Big Life.
Ralph Macchio, Karina Smirnoff
Every dancing star needs a pro. ABC has unveiled the 11 pairings for Season 12 of Dancing with the Stars.
Two-time champs Cheryl Burke and Mark Ballas will go for a record-tying third Mirrorball trophy with WWE bruiser Chris Jericho and Disney star Chelsea Kane, respectively. The only other former champ in the running, Kym Johnson, will tackle the ballroom with ...
Kirstie Alley, Sugar Ray Leonard
It's the season of the lookers, the fighters, a rapper, a Super Bowl MVP and a former Fat Actress — but not a one-time candidate for the U.S Senate. Emmy winner Kirstie Alley (Cheers) leads the cast of celebs who'll kick up their heels for Dancing With the Stars' 12th season, which begins March 21 on ABC. "We've wanted Kirstie from Day 1," says executive producer Conrad Green. "She's enormously winning and an absolute hoot."

Charlie Sheen's reps are racing to shut down a new Twitter account that claims to belong to the embattled Two and a Half Men actor. Someone using the Twitter handle "@ciestevez" and the name "Carlos Estevez" (Sheen's real name) recently joined the social media site.
The Twitter page also uses a photo of Sheen sitting next to Men co-star Angus T. Jones and contains just one post: "Last I counted I had four beautiful children, Kirstie." The post would seem to be in response to Kirstie Alley, whose Twitter account is one of ten that "Carlos Estevez" is following.
But there's one problem: This isn't really Sheen...
With anticipation of tonight's big announcement of Dancing with the Stars new cast, regulars Cheryl Burke, Derek Hough, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and new host Brooke Burke, walked the Entertainment Tonight Emmy after-party red carpet last night to promote Season 12 of their hit reality show.
Burke, a former winner, admitted "all the rumors seem to be true" regarding the new cast. Most notably, there has been a huge buzz surrounding DWTS' most controversial rumored cast member ...
Kirstie Alley gained weight, lost it and then gained it back. Now the Emmy-winning actress is on a mission to drop the pounds with a new diet program — and she's documenting her journey with a new reality show on A&E that goes by the cheeky title of Kirstie Alley's Big Life.

Though Alley admits she hates most unscripted reality programming, she thinks her new series will be "good reality TV."
Big Life (premiering Sunday at 10/9c on A&E) chronicles the actress' hopefully comedic take on her weight-loss battle — assisted by ...

This week, TV confused us. On Ugly Betty, little Justin kissed a girl... and a boy. Lost threw us for a loop by making bad-boy Sawyer a cop. American Idol's Kara DioGuardi made us ask: Ignorance or just a really dry sense of humor? And the titular heroine of The Good Wife went bad, cheating on her cheating husband with her attentive boss. Welcome to Top Moments: Land of Confusion Edition.
