ABC Family's The Lying Game may be based on the book of the same name, but the similarities pretty much end there.
"People who have loved the book will still get the tone in the series, but it takes on a life of its own," executive producer Charles Pratt, Jr. (Melrose Place) tells TVGuide.com. "Everybody you see on this show is somehow tied into the mystery, which is probably our biggest departure."

When Kirsten Prout's agent suggested she take a role in MTV's My Super Psycho Sweet 16 Part 2, the Twilight: Eclipse actress says she thought, "Are you kidding?"
But once Prout read the script, she loved it. "You can take this material that's geared to a certain demographic, but give it depth, smarten it up, make it fun, and also give it heart," Prout tells TVGuide.com. "It's got that John Hughes feeling, but it's also got that Halloween vibe."

Finally a Foss-free episode.This episode was so much more interesting than last week's. It actually held my attention for most of the time.Someone breaks into Amandas house. Kyle knows that because he was working on bettering his hearing skills. Amandas mother really does not like Kyle. I know this started last season, but I still do not have a clear understanding as to what the root cause of that dislike is.Steven is bored and trying out Joshs games. He tries multi-player gaming and uses Joshs headset to see what keeps Josh so absorbed all of the time. He hears some interesting conversations. He is convinced that Josh is smoking pot and it turns out that his parents are his suppliers. I like to see them explain this to Josh. It does not go well, but Josh ends up getting grounded. However, Steven feels really bad about it. He tries to explain his reasoning to Josh.Meanwhile, Jessi arrives for her first session with Nicole, and it disrupts Kyle he stops...
