Thankfully tonights episode brought us back to the interesting cases and patients that draw out the best and the worst in our favorite ER doctors and nurses We were also treated to some more superlative guest-acting Sean Young is certainly no Forest Whitaker but she was poignant and sympathetic in her portrayal of the mother suspiciously dying from liver failure Though I wasnt the least bit surprised that the hateful older son was complicit in her scheme to slowly kill herself without jeopardizing the insurance money for her sons I did think this was an interesting way to once again call Gates moral compass into question Lukas assessment of Gates ability to lie without a second thought was spot-on It was interesting to juxtapose this story against Neelas refusal to participate in Manishs surgey due to her own reservations about his motives for donating a kidney Frankly I was somewhat surprised at Dubenkos pragmatic approach read more be the first to leave a comment

Though I enjoyed Abbys transport-team heroics last week it was good to get back to the usual excitement of the ER with an episode directed by Laura Innes I was glad to see that she took the opportunity of the directors chair to give her alter ego Kerry Weaver a little romantic action However not everyone was feeling the love tonight Lukas problems with Curtis Ames continued when Luka thought he spotted him outside of his apartment building Though I can imagine most men in that situation would react with similar zeal in protecting their family it does seem that the tragic circumstances of Lukas history would explain his heightened reaction to a perceived threat When he went to see Ames at his work site his threat to kill him if Ames comes near his family was certainly believable No one does passionate resolute anger quite like Goran Visnjic However considering Abbys reaction at the end of the episode when Luka came clean with her it does read more be the first to leave a comment

Do not drink the White House Kool-Aid: Powers Boothe has been cast as Noah Daniels, vice president to commander in chief Wayne Palmer, on Fox's 24, which debuts Season 6 on Jan. 14.... It's official: Kip Pardue has been cast as the new resident nurse and love interest to Linda Cardellini's Sam on ER, sources confirm. He's slated to debut on Nov. 30. For those playing at home, the "acting titan" clue I dropped was a nod to Pardue's role in Remember the Titans. Congrats to all the winners!Bonus points go to anyone who can correctly ID the Buffy alum who was originally in talks to play the part.
