Texas-born Kimberly Caldwell is one of TV Guide Network's resident American Idol experts, and brings a first-hand insider's perspective to her hosting responsibilities. Kimberly co-hosts TV Guide Network's weekly series Idol Tonight, the exclusive pre-show to American Idol, jam-packed with former Idol interviews, never-before-seen Idol footage and fan questions, all shot before a live audience at Television City Studios in Los Angeles. Kimberly also co-hosts Reality Chat: Idol Wrap, TV Guide Network's weekly in-studio talk show that dishes on the best and worst Idol moments from the current season.
Kimberly is a singer, actress, and television personality who gained national recognition during her time on American Idol. She is currently serving as the host of a new CBS series Jingles, as well as a new MTV series entitled P. Diddy's StarMaker. Both series are produced by Mark Burnett and are slated to begin airing in 2009.
While on American Idol, Kimberly was an instant fan favorite, finishing among the top finalists competing for the title. Following her run on the smash second season of American Idol, Kimberly started working as a correspondent for the entertainment/extreme sports program 54321 on FOX Sports Network. She covered various events and movie premieres for the show before joining her fellow American Idol finalists on the road for the Idols Live! tour, which played in 44 cities across the United States.
TV Guide Network hired Kimberly as a correspondent for American Idol’s third season and quickly became a staple on the network. She hosted various specials and covered a wide variety of awards shows including Red Carpet specials before the Grammy® Awards, Academy Awards®, People's Choice Awards, Primetime Emmy® Awards, Golden Globe® Awards.
In addition to hosting for TV Guide Network, Kimberly has also frequently appeared on a variety of other news programs as a special Idol correspondent, including Larry King Live, Glenn Beck, MSNBC News Live, Showbiz Tonight, Rita Cosby, and Fox News Live.
Kimberly continues to pursue a career in acting and recently completed filming the television miniseries, twentysixmiles where she is appears opposite John Schneider (Smallville, Dukes of Hazzard).
Kimberly's first love continues to be music and she is presently writing and recording songs for her debut album. Several finished tracks are currently available on iTunes and other digital distribution outlets and Kimberly continues to make personal appearances and perform live at various events across the country.Kimberly Caldwell Fast Facts:
