On the Set: Unforgettable's Lively New Spirit

Much has changed on the Unforgettable set since the drama about NYPD cop Carrie Wells (Poppy Montgomery), who has near perfect memory, was canceled more than a year ago by CBS, then miraculously brought back to life. The action has moved from a grimy Queens precinct to the shiny, high-tech Manhattan Major Crimes Section, and the show's tone has been similarly lightened, in keeping with its off-season scheduling (the first of eight summer episodes aired July 28, with five more new installments to follow later).

The Mentalist: Meet Patrick Jane's Brother-in Law

The Mentalist: Has Jane Lost Red John's Cat-and-Mouse Game?

Patrick Jane got closer than ever to his psychopathic nemesis, Red John, in The Mentalist's Season 2 finale, but an end to Jane's quest for vengeance couldn't be further away.

Fall TV: Get scoop on your favorite returning shows

"Jane was pretty badly traumatized by his encounter with Red John," creator/executive producer Bruno Heller tells "It wasn't on Jane's terms. He felt ... violated and to a degree humbled by the experience. Jane had always had some sense that this was an equal duel of wits. But the last episode showed it was certainly more of a cat-and-mouse thing going on, and that Red John was holding all the cards."

Worse, Red John abducted psychic Kristina Frye (Leslie Hope), the first woman Jane (Simon Baker) had allowed himself to get close to since the murder of his wife and child at Red John's hand. Heller says Jane will pull away from Lisbon (Robin Tunney) and the rest of the team... read more

May 17, 2007: Didn't We Almost Have It All

I can't decide what I was most surprised about since I thought there were multiple shockers in this season's finale episode. So I will make a list of things that I did not see coming:— I did not expect Burke to call off the wedding. If anyone was going to put a stop to it, I thought it would've been Cristina. Apparently, Burke could tell Cristina just wasn't ready.— I did not expect George to be the only intern that didn't pass the exam. Alex would've been more predictable.— I did not expect Callie to be named new chief resident over Bailey.— I did not expect Izzie to (gag me) profess her undying love to George with hopes that he would reciprocate the feelings (once again, gag me). While I'm on the subject of shockers, let me also list things that were more predictable and not shocking:— I was not surprised that Rebecca's husband Jeff finally showed up, and she wanted Alex to give her a reason to not return to her hubby. I was pleased that Jeff was played by ... read more
