Kevin James, George Lopez
TBS says it's "very funny," so it's only fitting the network will look for more laughs in the 2009-10 season, in both 3-D and 2-D form and from former sitcom stars.
Already scheduled to return are Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns, which will launch its second season May 27, and The Bill Engvall Show, which will inhabit ...

To be written and directed by Jody Hill, the film finds Rogen as a self-important mall cop who gets into a turf battle with he local lawmen. Filming begins in April. Leah Remini and Kevin James, The King of Queens
CBS' The King of Queens — which presents its series finale tonight at 9 pm/ET — ruled as long as Seinfeld and Everybody Loves Raymond. Abdicating after nine seasons, Kevin James will match Jerry's and Ray's marks for longevity, even if King never achieved the same critical or ratings success. "We were TV's bitch," says cocreator David Litt. Still, flying under the radar had its benefits. "It helped us because the network let us do our own thing," James says. "We were the litt

Leah Remini, The King of Queens
Funny lady Leah Remini speaks candidly about her friends Tom and Katie, her diet tips, and moving on from CBS' The King of Queens (Mondays at 9:30 pm/ET).
TV Guide: After playing Carrie Heffernan on The King of Queens for nine seasons, you're coming down to the wire with next month's series finale. How does it feel? Remini: Awful. It's a cliché, but you just don't know what you have until it's gone. Kevin [James] and I have both had babies on the show. We've lost weight. We've gained weight. Just look at everything we've gone through. Nine years is a big chunk of your life. It's been my first real success, and you can't

All you King of Queens fans complaining that I never talk about your favorite show, quit your bitchin' 'cause I've got some scoop! A little birdie with ties to the soon-to-conclude sitcom tells me that Adam Sandler taped a guest appearance last night for an episode slated to air in April. The erstwhile Billy Madison plays a goofy high-school chum of Kevin James'. The two reconnect at their class reunion, but there's a twist: Sandler's character, the ex-class clown, is now the school's vice principal! How'd producers pull off such a casting coup? Reps for the show declined to comment, but it's a safe bet that Sandler did it as a favor to James, his costar in the upcoming gay-buddy comedy I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. Just a hunch.Queens, meanwhile, returns to CBS' sked Apr. 9 with the first of the series' seven final episodes. Quick sidebar: I caught an episode of Queens on a recent American Airlines flight, and, I must say, it was really funny. Granted, that was after three gl...

Get on a plane to start the holiday early (in the weirdly warm Ohio River valley) and look what happens. CBS pulls a switcheroo with its Monday comedies. On paper, it looks like more canny scheduling for a network that is solid (if uninspired) nearly every night of the week. CBSs current two-hour comedy block of traditional-looking (though often edgier than youd expect for mainstream) sitcoms may lack the distinctive brilliance you can find in the best of NBCs Thursday comedies, but theyre all watchable and at times very enjoyable. How I Met Your Mother has sharpened its game in its second season, the new The Class is working through its growing pains (perhaps not quickly enough to ensure renewal), Two and a Half Men is as bawdy as ever (and is at its best whenever Conchata Farrell and Holland Taylor are around), and The New Adventures of Old Christine has become one of the seasons more delightful surprises, with Julia Louis-Dreyfus a hoot as she bumbles...

Im hoping the approximately 23 zillion people whove written in to ask me about the fate of The King of Queens, which has been on hiatus all season, will be satisfied by CBSs announcement earlier today (I would have responded here sooner, but I got kind of distracted watching all the zany activity out of Washington, D.C.). Heres the deal: The ninth season of the Kevin James comedy will begin on Wednesdays as soon as sweeps is over, with back-to-back episodes on Dec. 6 and 13, plus original episodes the next two Wednesdays. (What Queens will be paired with those weeks, and past the new year, is yet to be determined.)The arrival of Queens coincides with the departure until February of CBSs unexpected new success, Jericho, which is going to take a breather after its Nov. 29 episode, in the tradition of Lost and Prison Break (which airs its own fall finale Nov. 27) to avoid the inevitable ratings drop from repeats. Jericho will return on Valentines Day...
