"Velvet Teddy Bear" Ruben Studdard, who has been seriously MIA from the music scene lately, is returning to American Idol. The Hollywood Reporter says that the Season 2 winner will serenade contestants as they are eliminated with a special "goodbye" song. What ugly-cry-inducing song will Ruben croon? None other than a cover of Kenny Loggins' "Celebrate Me Home," which will be produced by Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam.Perhaps for contestants who get the boot, like poor Alaina Whitaker last night, Ruben's mellow sound will soothe them into being able to shut off the waterworks and sing their swan songs.Traditionally, these "goodbye" songs have done very well with Idol exposure. Faith Hill and Tim McGraw this summer will serve up another round of their hugely successful Soul2Soul tour, the AP reports. The Jeep-sponsored concert series, which last year was rated by Pollstar ahead of the Stones and Madonna as the "Major Tour of 2006," kicks off June 6 in Omaha, Nebraska, and wraps up Aug. 10 in Anaheim, California.... Kenny Loggins was inducted into Hollywood's RockWalk on Wednesday, as oiled-up Navy pilots played slo-mo volleyball in the background.

American IdolI much prefer Gedeon's singing to his odd speaking voice. Once again he made the perfect song choice, as did Chris, who wasn't as impressive as last week but was still on top of the heap. I loved when Chris admitted that he used to have Ryan Seacrest-style hair but shaved it all off when he started going bald. The shrieking you heard was Ryan falling off the stage after facing his worst nightmare.
