Cliff's mother returns to Boston and sends him into a panic. Now established as a single independent adult, Cliff's determined to keep his mother from interfering with his life. Ma Clavin, however, has other plans. Hoping to move back in with Cliff, she is shocked when he offers to put her up in a hotel instead. She does her best to make Cliff feel guilty until, unexpectedly, Woody invites her to stay with him. Taking to each other immediately, Ma Clavin and Woody forge a pseudo 'mother/son' relationship.
