After news broke that American Idol may employ alumni as judges next season...
American Idol Season 12 runner-up Kree Harrison says she has no regrets about her time on the show, even deciding to let eventual winner Candice Glover close out the finale.
"People are asking me why I chose to go first and honestly, it was in the moment," she tells TVGuide.com. "I just said, 'Where do you want to go, first or last?' And Candice said last, and I don't care because I get to perform at the finale, whether I'm performing first or second."
American Idol is looking to replace the judges' panel with former contestants, according to a new report by Vulture.
Although both Fox and the companies that produce Idol have yet to comment on next season, sources tell Vulture that Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson have both been approached, and that Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken are on the shortlist as well.
Candice Glover and Ryan Seacrest
Third time's the charm for American Idol's Season 12 champ.
Candice Glover's victory on the reality singing competition show Thursday night comes after two major setbacks. She had previously auditioned in Season 9 and 11 and even made it to the Hollywood rounds, where she was then eliminated. She came back again in Season 12 and this time, made it to the very end.

"At some point I said, 'American Idol obviously doesn't want me, so why would I go back?' But I found myself on the website, looking at auditions again and being determined. I just couldn't stay away."

Candice Glover, Kree Harrison
The American Idol finale Wednesday was trimmed to just one hour, allowing finalists Candice Glover and Kree Harrison three songs each, plus a performance by Carly Rae Jepsen (groan). With all that to cram in, host Ryan Seacrest wasted no time in getting to the performances — and we won't either.
Just one week after Randy Jackson announced he would not be returning to the judges table after this season of American Idol come reports that Nicki Minaj will also be vacating her post.
According to Us Weekly, an anonymous source said, "It's safe to say she isn't coming back to Idol. She's okay with it. She had a great time but was only going to do one season anyway." Fox would not comment on the report.
Though as popular as ever, ABC's top comedy Modern Family isn't always the most pleasant company — and in this week's episode (Wednesday, 9/8c), several of the more abrasive and prickly characters (notably, siblings Claire and Mitchell) confront their dark side with sporadically funny if sometimes predictable results.
