The Day the Earth Stood Still
Twentieth Century Fox's remake of the 1951 sci-fi classic The Day the Earth Stood Still will be the widest release ever — including a journey into outer space.
Fox and a privately owned celestial communications network will use equipment at Cape Canaveral, Fla., to begin beaming Earth Stood Still to Alpha Centauri, the nearest star system to Earth, reports Variety.
This is the first attempt by a Hollywood studio to beam up a movie into space (so... many... Star Trek jokes).

Keanu Reeves' Porsche allegedly grazed a photographer standing in its path as the actor on Monday evening pulled out of a parking space in the the Avenida Tranquila residential area 30 miles south of downtown Los Angeles. According to the Associated Press, the unidentified shutterbug fell to the ground after getting clipped, then was taken to a local hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is investigating the incident.Bummer.

For months, the thing about Heroes that bothered me most was Milo Ventimiglia’s hair: specifically, that dreaded dangling forelock Peter Petrelli kept playing with, as if in thrall to a fetish. I’ve long wanted the boy to get a haircut. But not like this!Quite the horrifying climax to the March cliff-hanger (no new episodes until April 23), as Sylar pinned that dupe Mohinder to the ceiling while slicing into Peter Petrelli’s skull to see why Peter ticks like Sylar, only less murderously. Blood drops from Peter’s forehead onto the floor, followed by that hank of hair. I cringed, then I cheered. Well done.The episode was a crackerjack thrill ride with one reversal after another. Simone rising from the dead? Shut up! It’s really Candice, the slinky shape-shifter! Mrs. Bennet betraying her hubby, in cahoots with The Company? Shut up! Additional postproduction needs have forced Warner Bros. to push back the Feb. 3 release of The Lake House, a romance reuniting Speedsters Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. The flick will now open June 16, where it will face off against The Fast and the Furious 3 and the Viking adventure Pathfinder.

Answer: You're not hallucinating: The 16-year-old Keanu Reeves — then several years away from being a movie star — did appear on a Canadian sitcom called Hanging' In, which took place in a neighborhood youth center. Reeves wasn't a series regular, but was apparently featured in several episodes. The show's blonde star was Lally Cadeau, and it ran for a respectable six years, from 1981 to 1987, in Canada, and was also broadcast in a small number of U.S. markets
