Needless to say, the new policy left many Instagrammers up in arms — including the app's most followed user, Kim Kardashian.
Though the company has now backpedaled and issued a statement vowing not to sell users' photos and apologizing for the "confusing" language of the announcement, a number of users, including Kardashian, have threatened to abandon the app if the reports are true.
