"Get the girl," Alaric told Damon at the end of last week's Vampire Diaries. But will he?
By the end of that episode, Elena (Nina Dobrev) had her emotions back, but was mainly consumed with defeating Katherine, and reuniting and ultimately saying goodbye to her brother Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen). Echoing the Season 3 finale with the big question of who — if anyone —will Elena choose, the Season 4 ender will leave viewers with a clear notion, again, of where she stands.
The Vampire Diaries: Is Elena really herself again?
The CW handed out series orders to four new shows Thursday. The Tomorrow People, Reign, The 100 and Star-Crossed join the previously ordered Vampire Diaries spin-off, The Originals.
The Tomorrow People, which is...
Elena's humanity is back, but has the old Elena really returned?
"Without a doubt she's forever changed, but she's on a slow climb back to returning to an Elena driven by love, compassion and loyalty," Vampire Diaries executive producer Julie Plec tells TVGuide.com.
After Elena (Nina Dobrev) acted like a brat — and that's putting it nicely — for the last few episodes, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) exhausted all their options before ultimately killing Matt (Zach Roerig). Fortunately he had his life-saving ring on, but Elena wasn't made aware of that until the emotions came flooding back. Now that she can feel again, will she return to being the newbie vamp she was prior to her brother's death? And how far will she go to succeed in her latest mission to kill Katherine? Plec spills below.
"Greetings from the dead," Kol says in Thursday's episode of The Vampire Diaries.
Yup, get ready to see a few of your favorite — and not-so favorite — fallen victims return in the season's penultimate episode.
"We're going to learn more behind the mythology of lifting the veil and why specific characters ... have returned and why some have not," Candice Accola tells us in this week's Vampire Diaries Bite. "So it's not that every character that's ever been killed off the show is just going to magically appear in one wide shot, but there will be a lot of familiar faces and a story behind each one."
The Vampire Diaries Finale First Look: Has Elena turned her emotions back on?
Can Elena Gilbert finally feel again?
In our exclusive first look at The Vampire Diaries finale, Elena (Nina Dobrev) is looking at an injury on Damon's chest. Yes, we're a tad worried about the state of Mr. Salvatore, but even more importantly, Elena looks concerned! Does that mean the drastic attempts by her friends on Thursday's episode —teased here — will work?
Check out scoop on all the season finales
"We have a lot of questions on the table about Elena," Julie Plec tells us. "Is she stuck this way forever? Is she ever going to turn her humanity back on? If she does, will the sire bond be back in effect or gone? If it's gone, what are her feelings for Damon vs. her feelings for Stefan? The whole season has been trying to get Elena back to who she was, so everything will be answered in the finale."
