Xavier (Romain Duris), is thirty years old. He has realized his childhood dream and has become a writer, but he still seems a little lost. Earning a living by writing is not easy and he has developed a few financial problems. He also has trouble settling down with a girl and has one meaningless romantic encounter after another. He lines up a confusing series of jobs related to writing; he's a journalist, a ghostwriter, a soap opera writer or a screenwriter for junk TV series. He does what he can, meaning that he's a little messed up . . . Divided between his ex-girlfriend, his mother, his passing romantic encounters and his lesbian pal, Xavier has a hard time getting his work done properly, which is conceiving and writing a simple, normal love story.
