Julianne: Adam Was "The Best Thing About This Season"

Adam Carolla and Julianne Hough by Kelsey McNeal/ABC

Sometimes it's useful to look back on the mindset of someone who is about to jump off the cliff known as Dancing with the Stars. Take Adam Carolla, who was the fourth star voted out Tuesday night. Before he learned his first step — before he even met his pro partner, Julianne Hough — he marveled at how a comedian with two left feet ended up on the most famous dance floor in America. Now that he's gone through the fire, Carolla believes that facing the terror of spandex and rhinestones was worth it. "I gotta say, we were about to do our [encore] and I was backstage actually looking forward to it. The first night, I was petrified. But the last night, tonight, I thought, 'This is going to be fun. Mission accomplished.'""He was the best thing about this season," says Hough. And while that statement may be debated, it's clear that Carolla is going to be sorely missed. "He added so much to the show!" moaned Marissa Jaret Winokur. "I don't know what I'm going to do without him ba... read more

Backstage at Dancing with the Stars: Ryan Seacrest?!

Bruno Tonioli by Kelsey McNeal/ABC

Judge Bruno Tonioli was in rare form Tuesday night. In an interview with TV Guide just moments after the show, he let loose on the male stars of Season 6, calling them "lazy bastards." Apart from R&B star Mario, Tonioli says he was not impressed by the quality of dancing on the season-opener. "I'm so relieved seeing the girls," says Tonioli, "because the boys needed a kick in the ass. Mario was the only one who really sparkled. The others? They were lazy bastards. Sorry, but it's true. They did the dances, but not enough. You're not going to get away with that on Dancing with the Stars. And if you try, we're going to go after you."This isn't the first time, of course, that the first dances of the season have been less than stellar.... The efforts of Master P., Kenny Mayne and Billy Ray Cyrus come to mind. So why is Tonioli so wound up this time? Maybe because now, Dancing is the No. 2 show in the land and we've grown to expect more. Maybe it's because on Tuesday night, the show ... read more

No Dancing in the Sheets for Virgin Julianne?

Julianne Hough by Gregg DeGuire/ WireImage.com

Hollywood may be rife with hard-partying, serial-dating young stars, but Julianne Hough isn't one of them. I know, it's hard to believe, but the blond Dancing With the Stars bombshell not only abstains from drinking, smoking and drugs — but she's still a virgin.Us reports that in the new issue of CosmoGIRL!, Hough, 19, opens up about her closed-door policy. She explains that she wants "to be with that special person. I think to have sex before marriage is an individual [decision]." She adds, "[Waiting] will strengthen that relationship.""I'm not trying to preach consequences here," she continues, "but I think when you say no, down the line, it will be a better decision."Hough was previously engaged to Zack Wilson, a contestant on Dance War, but broke things off because she was too young for marriage. She was also rumored to be romantically linked to Helio Castroneves, but denied involvement with the dance champ. Since then, Hough says she hasn't been dating a whole lot, and fee... read more

On Tour with Dancing with the Stars: An Emotional Finale

Julianne Hough and Helio Castroneves, Dancing with the Stars

Oh, what a long, strange trip it's been — 37 cities, 250 costumes and more than 200,000 rhinestones. But finally, Sunday at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, it was time for the Dancing with the Stars tour to come to an end. "It's bittersweet but I'm happy to go home," Cheryl Burke said after she joined the cast and a few crew members for their final pre-performance cheer. "I'm going to miss everyone," added Edyta Sliwinska. "I'm just really excited to sleep in my own bed." But first there was a show to do. And what's a final show without a few surprises? The first non-scripted moment of the evening came when the entire crew joined the dancers on stage to dance the twist. Derek Hough was mid-move when he caught a glimpse of the crew, all dressed in black, doing the moves behind him and pointed out the impromptu dance party to his partner, who quickly burst into a smile. It was the first of read more

On Tour with Dancing with the Stars: Helio and Julianne Reunite

Julianne Hough and Helio Castroneves, Dancing with the Stars

"Wow," says Helio Castroneves, getting his first look inside Indianapolis' massive Conseco Fieldhouse. The auditorium is home court to the Indiana Pacers and the place where Dancing with the Stars' Season 5 champ will return to the dance floor — for the first time in almost two months — in a matter of hours. It's the morning of Jan. 18, and the cavernous auditorium is a beehive of activity. The stage, T-shaped and almost as long as a basketball court, has a dance floor that reaches deep into an audience estimated at roughly 8,000. The production crew is doing its almost nightly magic act of setting up a complete theater: Workers scurry this way and that, unloading enormous crates that house everything from the bandstand to the dance floor itself.
