The Mentalist: Did Jane's Plan Backfire?

[Warning: The following article contains spoilers about Sunday's episode of The Mentalist. Read at your own risk!]

So much for a tattoo being the surefire way to determine who Red John is.

On Sunday's episode of The Mentalist, Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) gathers the five remaining Red John suspects — Bret Stiles (Malcolm McDowell), Ray Haffner (Reed Diamond), Thomas McAllister (Jack Plotnick), Reede Smith (Drew Powell) and Gale Bertram (Michael Gaston) — at his house to determine once and for all which one is his nemesis. Why S.H.I.E.L.D. Is This Season's Biggest Disappointment

I'm going to get right to the point: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is not good.

Five episodes in, and I'm ready to quit -- and I don't quit anything. I'm still watching Grey's Anatomy, Project Runway and yes, even the boys vs. girls season of America's Next Top Modelbut S.H.I.E.L.D. is pushing my limits.

It's the biggest intelligence breach in U.S. history-the leaking of more than half-a-million classified documents on the Wikileaks website in the spring of 2010. Behind it all, stand two very different men: Julian Assange, the Internet activist and hacker who published the documents, and an Army intelligence analyst named Bradley E. Manning, who's currently charged with handing them over. Private Manning allegedly leaked the secret cables-along with a controversial video-in the hope of inciting "worldwide discussion, debates and reforms." Assange's stated mission has been to force the U.S. and other governments into maximum transparency through his whistle-blowing website. Through in-depth interviews with Manning's father, Assange, and others close to the case, veteran FRONTLINE correspondent Martin Smith tells the full story behind the leaks. He also reports on the U.S. government's struggle to protect national security information in a post 9/11 world. watch
