Twentieth Century TV has until June 30 to salvage Miss Guided, which didn't make ABC's fall slate, but in case it was not meant to be, Judy Greer has a Plan B in place. The bubbly comedienne has scored the lead in Suburban Shootout, HBO's half-hour pilot directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and based on a British series.A dark comedy, Shootout has Greer playing a woman who "escapes" to the suburbs only to get caught in the middle 'tween rival gangs of homicidal housewives. The lovely, young and red-headed (!) Judy Greer was among the latest celebs to pay a visit to our snazy new recording studio here and oblige us with an on-camera Q&A. Here, Judy talks up ABC's Miss Guided (airing Thursdays at 8 pm/ET), hints at her own high-school horrors, reveals what it was like to have "the" Jamie Lynn Spears on her baby sitcom, and reflects on her Arrested Development days. I, meanwhile, debut a new sweater with suede-ish elbow pads. Enjoy!

Judy Greer, Californication
After he made TV history when his main character had a tryst with a minor in Californication's first episode, you can trust Tom Kapinos, the show's creator, to dream up even more shocking visuals — like David Duchovny's Hank Moody snorting cocaine off Judy Greer's behind. Greer, best known for her roles in romantic comedies opposite Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Garner, as well as her stint on Arrested Development, joins the show for its eighth episode as a prostitute who is there for Hank Moody in a time of need. We caught up with Greer to find out how she found herself in this compromising position.

Tonight's episode truly marked a milestone for our favorite Harper men. Not only did it bring an end to Alan's days of alimony, but it also gave Charlie a taste of what it's like to be on the receiving end of "a meaningless fling." As for Jake, well, it proved to be a messy night for him, too. First, let's talk about Myra (Judy Greer). I really hope this isn't the last we see of her. She and Charlie had a good, albeit brief relationship, and it was rather enjoyable to watch Charlie fall into a more vulnerable role for once. Part of me wonders if that wasn't a case of Charlie wanting something he couldn't have, or if he really did think he'd found his match. Regardless of the reason, their time together did make for some great dialogue. In one of their funnier exchanges, Charlie revealed his secrets on how he manages to get a woman out of his bed. According to him, if he's only interested in seeing the woman leave for the day, he'll tell her, "I have to see a dermatologist about a...

Question: I have recently started watching Love Monkey reruns on VH1 and have completely fallen in love with the show. (Tom Cavanagh rules!) I only wish I and about a million other people had started watching the show earlier so that we could all look forward to many seasons to come. My question: Oftentimes, such as with Love Monkey or My So-Called Life, other channels will pick up episodes and rerun them for the "cult" fans. Why can't these same channels actually produce new episodes for the show, knowing they already have a large fan base? Is it that difficult to obtain rights to a show that another network has already canceled?
Answer: From what I've read of VH1's numbers for Love Monkey so far, I wouldn't overestimate how "large" that fan base is, though it certainly deserves one. The basic issue here is that cable networks like VH1 simply don't have the budget to produce costly new episodes of a sophisticated scripted drama (with A-list actors like Cavanagh, Judy Greer, Larenz Tate

No one dies in the pilot episode of the mid-season charmer Love Monkey (premieres Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 10 pm/ET), and that has me worried. Can CBS and its audience embrace an hourlong show that dares to exist outside the world of the crime-drama procedural? (Didn't work so well for the sci-fi Threshold.)
But maybe Love Monkey will turn out to be CBS' next Northern Exposure. Granted, the music scene in New York City is a far cry from Cicely, Alaska, but this amiable comedy-drama shares the attributes of quirky humor, great banter from cool characters and a passion for living life on one's own terms. It's sexy, funny, hip and heartfelt.
