The dynamic duo of director David O. Russell and star Jennifer Lawrence will return to theaters just in time for Christmas 2015. Fox has slated Joy, Russell's film about Miracle Mop inventor Joy Mangano, for release on December 25, 2015. Lawrence will play the inventor, marking the third collaboration between the Hunger Games star and Russell. She won her first Oscar for her role in Silver Linings Playbook and was nominated for an Oscar for her role in American Hustle.
Deadline is reporting that the American Hustle director, David O'Russell, is in negotiations with Fox 2000 to come on board an untitled biopic about Joy Mangano, the inventor of the Miracle Mop. He also may be teaming up once again with Jennifer Lawrence who may star in the film as Mangano. If she signs on for the film it would be her third collaboration with the director after Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle. The actress was nominated for the Academy Award for both films.
