Parenthood Boss on Sarah’s Growth, Crosby's New Baby and a Separation for Joel and Julia?

What a difference a year makes. Last September, Parenthood faced a shortened 15-episode season after three years of high critical praise but lukewarm ratings. But thanks in no small part to Kristina's heartbreaking battle with breast cancer, the tearjerker family drama transformed from bubble show to buzz show. Now the NBC series returns for a full 22-episode season on a brand new night, Thursdays at 10/9c.

"Moving us to Thursdays was a vote of confidence from...read more

5 Teases for Season 5 of Parenthood: A Wedding and a "Conveyor Belt of Babies"

Last year was a tough season for Parenthood, on-screen and off-screen. The show kept viewers reaching for the tissues when Kristina Braverman (Monica Potter) battled breast cancer, while her niece Amber (Mae Whitman) struggled with her feelings for a former soldier suffering from PTSD. Behind the camera, the perennial bubble show had been renewed for 15 episodes — shorter than the usual 22 — and ended its season way back in January. However, seven months later, the show has been renewed for a full 22-episode season and has been moved to...read more

Guide to Tuesday TV: Hope Returns, Parenthood, Sons, and a Cable Free-For-All

Where there's hope, there's laughter. And where there's Raising Hope, which returns for a third season tonight on Fox (8/7c), the laughter is of a particularly shameless quality. Take Sabrina's grandmother Nana — please! Actually, as the episode begins, this glam granny has already been taken to the great beyond, her body laid out for the wake in a scenario that almost sounds like a Bones episode: "The Body in the Buffet." (The vain Nana having requested her body be put in the kitchen so people would notice — which Cloris Leachman's unhinged Maw Maw certainly does.)

Parenthood Scoop: Sarah's Love Triangle, Julia's Juggling Act and Amber's Big Romance

Parenthood already has one of the biggest casts on network TV, but it's ensemble just keeps growing. Last season added Adam and Kristina's baby daughter, Nora, and saw the return of Sarah's ex, Mark Cyr (Jason Ritter). For Season 4, which premieres on Sept. 11 at 10/9c, the NBC drama has added a few more fresh faces. There's Victor, Julia and Joel's adopted son and, of course, Emmy winner Ray Romano, who will play yet another love interest for the eldest Braverman daughter. "I've been talking to Ray a bunch about his character and he's really excited about doing it," executive producer Jason Katims tells TVGuide.com. "He's a fan."

But Sarah's complicated love life — including whether or not she accepted Mark's surprise proposal — is far from the only obstacle the Bravermans will face. Katims filled us in on Romano's "acerbic" new guy, Amber's promising new romance, Julia's tough juggling act and whether there's another new Braverman baby on the way for Crosby (Dax Shepard) and Jasmine (Joy Bryant). As usual, it sounds like you should have your Kleenex ready.... read more

Parenthood: Crosby's Dilemma, the Next Twist in Julia's Baby Quest and Hopes for Season 4

It was the best of times and it was the worst of times on last week's Parenthood. Jasmine (Joy Bryant) professed her love for Crosby (Dax Shepard), just as his sister, Julia, (Erika Christensen) learned the heart-breaking news that she was not going to be a mother again.

And don't push those tissue boxes away just yet. "I'm really proud of the finale. It was one of those episodes where so many things come together and it's got good humor, it's emotional," showrunner Jason Katims tells TVGuide.com. "It's a nice mix of seeing some things come to a really satisfying ending and on the other hand, opening up... read more

Parenthood's Joy Bryant: Jasmine Will Always Have Feelings For Crosby

Sure, he cheated on her (and lied about it), but Parenthood fans have been secretly rooting for Jasmine (Joy Bryant) and Crosby (Dax Shepard) to get back together... until the arrival of Jasmine's new boyfriend, Dr. Joe (D.B. Woodside). "People either say, 'When are you two getting back together?!' or 'Stay with the doctor, girl. He's hot. He's a doctor,'" Bryant tells TVGuide.com with a laugh. "It goes both ways."

On Tuesday's episode (10/9c, NBC), Crosby and Jasmine must finally face the facts and tell their young son that mommy and daddy aren't together anymore now that there's a new man in the picture. Bryant talked with TVGuide.com about how they'll break the news, Jasmine's ability to move on and whether she thinks Jasmine and Crosby will ever... read more
