Ugly Betty's two hour season finale (Thursday, 8 pm/ET on ABC) will be brimming with guest stars — Rachel Dratch plays twins, Christopher Gorham returns as Henry — but not all the characters in the episode will be fictional. Just ask The View's Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who cameo on the Season 3 closer.
In the finale, the daytime divas play themselves filming a segment of The View with the media's new It Boy: Daniel Meade. But rather than lobbing softball questions at him, the ladies give the Mode boss ...

Whoopi Goldberg has always had a wonderfully distinct point of view, and one thats probably just right for her new job on The View. But unlike her immediate predecessor in the cohost seat, this POV is not trained entirely on herself. For me, thats a relief.Tuesdays 11th-season opening of ABCs daytime squawk show was a pretty low-key lovefest, as the gang embraced Whoopi while catching fans up on how they spent their summer vacation: Elisabeth Hasselbeck became more noticeably pregnant, Joy Behar nursed a virus and Barbara Walters made progress on her memoirs. Elizabeth and Joy displayed family photos. And Whoopi? Didnt have much to reveal about herself (though she did sit for a pro forma taped biographical profile at the end). Shes just a hardworking gal these days, spending four hours on the radio each early a.m. before heading over to the Hot Topics table. Are these back-to-back morning gigs going to stretch her too thin? After weeks of speculation, Barbara Walters announced live on The View today that Whoopi Goldberg will be the new cohost of the daily ABC chatfest."I love you guys. This is a big ol' thrill for me," said Goldberg when she was introduced on the show this morning. "The thing I'm looking forward to the most is all the hot topics."After joining cohosts Walters, Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck on The View for the big announcement, Goldberg closed the show in true View fashion: "Have a great day, everyone, and take a little time to enjoy the view."I have known Whoopi for years," Walters said in a statement. "She is brilliant, funny and irrepressible, and is an enormously popular and talented star. We are delighted that she is going to join the program as our moderator. This is going to be a great new chapter for The View."Goldberg will become a permanent fixture on The View on Sept. 4 when the show kicks off its 11th season. Goldberg is no stranger to the show, having appeared as...

No matter how much Rosie O'Donnell badmouths The View, Joy Behar has only kind words for her former on-air ally. "I like Rosie," Behar told TV Guide at the American Women in Radio and Television's Gracie Awards in New York City June 18. "I thought that we kicked a little butt over there, the two of us, and I thought she raised the game and I was happy to have her." But what about O'Donnell's recent comments describing her former co-hosts as "heteros
[who will] stab you in the back with a high heel?" A surprised Behar replied, "I know she didn't mean me. No, not at all." Reporting by Erin S. Medley
