How I Met Your Mother
Now that Barney and Robin are out of the bag, it's time for the Emmy-nominated How I Met Your Mother (premieres Monday, 8/7c, CBS) to have even more fun this season. "We've kicked the door open on them together — I guess you can say together — and the floodgates of hilarious stories have opened up because there's nothing funnier than two people who are just terrible at being in relationships trying to be in a relationship," creator Carter Bays tells TVGuide.com. Of course, Barney and Robin aren't the only ones with plot turns as Ted starts a teaching gig at Columbia University, where he will meet his future wife. Bays tells us what's in store for everyone and why it would be an "outrage" if Neil Patrick Harris doesn't win an Emmy on Sunday.

The night was Awe. Some.Nearly the entire How I Met Your Mother gang (minus Jason Segel, who is busy shooting a movie) congregated at McGee's in NYC aka the inspiration for the sitcom's McClaren's. Cozying up with each in a booth (and maybe the occasional adult beverage...), I sought out scoop on all things Mother. Here, I will embed the video of Neil Patrick Harris, who ponders the Barney-Robin hookup and their possible future, the Britney aftermath and more. Links to my sit-downs with Josh, Cobie, Alyson and a pair of producers will follow. I hope you enjoy, because it was one of my most fun outings here ever!More from the Mother gang:• Josh Radnor on Sarah Chalke, fans getting Lost-like crazy and more.• Alyson Hannigan on dissing me for three years straight(!), Lily and Marshall's next hurdles (a baby, maybe?) and more. • Cobie Smulders on dressing to kill, getting "tipsy" to play Robin Sparkles and more.• Exec producers Carter Bays and Pamela Fryman on....

Sarah Chalke by Jesse Grant/WireImage.com
OMFG, she is so the mother! I think. I'm hearing from multiple sources that Sarah Chalke is in advanced talks to reprise her role as Ted's possible future wife on How I Met Your Mother. In fact, just moments ago, Chalke's Mother crush himself, Josh Radnor here to shoot a guest appearance for next week's Ausiello Report vodcast confirmed that we'd probably be seeing Stella for a "few more episodes" this season. He was quick to add, however, that he has no clue whether or not she's the mother. "I really don't know," he said, "nor do I ask." Radnor also pleaded ignorance regarding the possibility of Britney Spears returning as Chalke's unhinged assistant, although he expressed confidence that exec producers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas "could write a great plot for her to come back." Neil Patrick Harris may prove a harder sell. Radnor's costar told the Associated Press that too much of Spears may not be a good thing. "I'm in the minority that our show does not need stunt c...

Josh Radnor, Britney Spears and Sarah Chalke by Monty Brinton/CBS
In last week's Q&A, Josh Radnor discussed with us the new batch of How I Met Your Mother episodes. And then the Britney Media Hurricane hit. A man of his word, Radnor got back to us via e-mail with his even more recent thoughts on Ted's assorted prospects arriving in this Monday's episode. With reporting by Michelle HellerTVGuide.com: What's it like working with Sarah Chalke? It felt like Sarah and I had worked together for years in the good way. She's super talented and funny and brought such a great vibe to the set. We did a two-and-a-half minute tracking shot the first day of shooting, which was one of the funnest is that a word? things I've done on the show. She's also really believable as a doctor. She must have played one at some point.TVGuide.com: Since Sarah will be in only one episode, will Ted and Stella still be dating? Doesn't look that way, but like with everything on the show, they've left it open. Maybe all of Ted's wome...

Josh Radnor and Britney Spears, How I Met Your Mother
It's been quite a week for struggling cult favorite How I Met Your Mother (Mondays on CBS at 8:30 pm/ET). First it was revealed that Ted's (Josh Radnor) dermatologist crush, Stella, would be played in a multi-episode arc by Alicia Silverstone, leading a lot of fans to theorize that she was indeed the future Mrs. Mosby. Then later in the week we learned that Stella would instead be played by Scrubs' Sarah Chalke, and, in a casting shocker that was truly legendary, one Britney Spears will be playing Stella's Ted-loving assistant, Abby (about which Radnor told us, "The only thing 'scandalous' about all of this is how non-scandalous it is"). Before the first post-strike Mother

Britney Spears by Jeffrey Mayer/WireImage.com
How goes it three days into Britney's stint on How I Met Your Mother, now slated for a March 24 air date? "[It] has been so terrific," Spears shares. "Everyone, including the cast, the crew and the producers, has been so wonderful." Spears is guest-starring as the assistant to Ted's dermatologist (Sarah Chalke), and as such will find herself crushing on the young architect as well. "Abby is such a fun girl to play," says Brit. "I'm having a blast!"Ted's portrayer shrugs off any speculation that the headline staple has been a handful in her most unexpected sitcom stop-by. "She's friendly, shows up on time, knows all her lines, nails all of her jokes," says Josh Radnor. "The only thing 'scandalous' about all of this is how non-scandalous it is." So we're all on the New York street on the CBS Radford lot in Studio City shooting a How I Met Your Mother promo that's a parody of CSI, which they tell me is a popular show. We're all exhausted and not quite sure what we're doing. My sense is that on an hourlong procedural show, the hours are much worse but your face never has to change its expression. So that's a big up. Changing facial expressions is exhausting and overrated. They're setting up a shot of a corpse's feet right now. We're all pretty exhausted the night's supposed to go very late and we have an early call. We haven't been officially picked up for a third season yet, but we're all seeing it as a good sign that CBS is having us do this. I'm going to have each cast member say something... get a little guest-blogging going.Me: Hey, guys. Give me a quote for my TVGuide.com blog.[Everybody thinks]Neil Patrick Harris: "I'm in a constant state of squint. And I like it. I like it a lot. It feels right, you know?"Alyso...

How I Met Your Mother
How I Met Your Mother: At its best, it's one of TV's tangiest, highest laugh-per-minute ratio comedies, populated by one of the brightest and most crackling casts out there. In its less-than-two years on our screens, it has taught us to "Suit up," fear the slap bet and never, ever call Lily a, um, "grinch." It gave TV back Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan, and treated us to the arrival of relative newbies Josh Radnor, Jason Segel and Cobie Smulders. To celebrate the CBS sitcom's funnily serious litany of accomplishments, TVGuide.com invited cocre

What's up, blogosphere? I've never blogged before. This is my first blog. I don't know if I'm going to do this right. I'm totally behind the times: No MySpace page, just got cable two months ago, and I cannot cannot get my damn Bluetooth to work. And I've never blogged. I feel like an 80-year-old going online for the first time. Scary. So here goes. I'm about to blog. Look at me... blogging.OK, what's going on in HowIMetYourMotherLand?Ben Lee dropped by our set a few weeks ago. He had called [series creator] Carter Bays to tell him that he was a huge fan, so Carter invited him to come to the set and watch us tape. (Unlike most multicamera half hours, we don't tape in front of a live audience. It takes us three full days to block and shoot the show, which is entirely too long to make an audience sit, no matter how much candy you chuck at them.) Anyway, Mr. Ben Lee had a beer with us out by our trailers after we'd wrapped. He said he'd first seen HIMYM on an airplane (Am...
