Rio de Janeiro, 1997. Nascimento – captain of the Police Elite Squad – is facing a crisis: he is about to become a father and will have to take charge in a dangerous mission in the convoluted world of Rio de Janeiro slums and drug dealing in order to secure the Pope during his visit to the city. In order to leave the front line though he will have to find a replacement worthy of the job.
A hardened vet of Rio de Janeiro's drug wars is now head of a special police unit, which comes with new responsibilities and dangers.
